Not sure where to post this one so we will see if it needs to be merged.

We have our first polio case in a decade now.

New York reports nation's first polio case in nearly a decade - POLITICO

I posit that this is from the damage done by public health through the pandemic. They have caused so much damage and distrust that we are seeing huge drops in childhood vaccines compared to recent years. You do not force people to take drugs they do not need. And with arrogance and abrasiveness. Doctors on the front lines are going to be dealing with this for at least a generation.

We're Living Through The Biggest Drop in Childhood Vaccination Rates in 30 Years (sciencealert.com)

If we do not clean house at these organizations soon. Like yesterday. They will need to be shelved and recreated. It is going to take a long time to rebuild the trust a few at the top of these organizations caused. It should have never happened.

Yeah, the anti-vax movement is really stupid and harmful.

I honestly expected this to happy in a southern state first. If you remember Tennessee's DOH halted child vaccine outreach not only for covid but for ALL vaccines

Let’s see. Some people propagate at every opportunity to dissuade the use of vaccines. Then, complain when diseases reappear, because of a false fear on getting vaccinations. And then blame the very public health organizations for their own propagations. Wow.

It is pretty remarkable how he can turn almost anything into a covid thread though.

I like that Q thinks that vaccine mistrust stemmed from the pandemic. The anti-vax situation had been ramping up years before we even knew what COVID was.

OP is trying to make a leap to blame… I guess… Fauci, but he is betrayed by his own lack of critical thinking skills.

Says right in the article it is a YOUNG ADULT who was not vaccinated. People are vaccinated against polio as young children (IPV vaccine). That means the parents of this person made the decision to not get their child vaccinated against polio 15-20 years ago. Yep. That definitely has everything to do with public health officials who recommend certain vaccines and not the anti-vaxxer nutjobs who refuse the recommended (or even generally required) vaccines. :emoji_upside_down::emoji_upside_down::emoji_upside_down:

Some extreme positions I can understand. Indeed, one often has to start at the extreme to get to a reasonable middle. Try as I have, this extreme I can’t understand. I think there might be something personal at work here that compels him to the extreme and prevents to a less irrational, as it seem to me, position.

Hundreds of thousands of unvaxed died, that’s for sure. But I won’t necessarily lay responsibility at the anti-vaccination crowd’s feet since many just never got around to it.

Did any of the millions of illegal get any kind of vaccine? Then you start with them if you are serious about giving out vaccines...

One more time the experimental Covid-19 junk is NOT a vaccine... NOT the same thing.

And we know why the Dems are purposefully letting people from all over the world with diseases... NOT GOING TO CHANGE A THING ABOUT THE DEADLY CLOT-SHOT.

Some key facts, a few even in the article if it were read.

    1. This case of polio is a cofirmed Type 2 strain, which is a strain that was used in the oral polio vaccine pill which was discontinued in the US in 2000 in favor of a bivalent, inactivated polio virus vaccine.

    2. This weakened strain is known to mutate in the body, especially in people with weakened immune systems and created a transmissible variant.

    3. This case follows a large increase in the amount of Type 2 polio virus detected in London's waste water system, suggesting an outbreak somewhere in the city. Again, since most polio infections are asymptomatic in vaccinated adults, many people may encounter polio and never know or mistake it for a common cold.

    4. This particular case was likely due to an encounter with somone who was infected and had taken the oral polio virus (most likely transmission route).

    5. The CDC and local health officials will launch an immediate vaccine campaign to everyone in the area who have not been previously vaccinated for polio. For those previously vaccinated, they will be offered a booster. Again, even if you are vaccinated, but it was more than 6-8 months ago, you can carry and transmit the polio virus (Holy Crap - just like the COVID vaccines...because well, duh....that is how vaccines work!!!)

Polio is found in the U.K. for the first time in nearly 40 years. Here's what it means

I know you are trying to imply those who decided to not take the Covid shot are antivax. That is not the case. fauci and the few authoritarians are the ones that have caused the harm.

Maybe if Biden had 5 or 6 shots he could have avoided Covid…
