    Spot on.

The little 4 team playoff was billed, advertised and sold as a more comprehensive way to match the 4 “best” teams up in a playoff, not the 4 highest ranked teams in a poll. The multi person committee was put together specifically for this purpose, to determine who the 4 “best” are via a group discussion using multiple factors. Simple wins & losses was not going to be the major factor as it is with the polls. They even said they expected a team with one more loss to get in over a team with one less loss because they were deemed a better team. You’ll notice now they’ve conveniently dropped the “best” term and replaced it with “most deserving” now. Okay, so just use the AP poll then, because that’s how the useless polls are put together. When they reveal the 4 playoff teams today it will just mirror the AP poll, imho.

gump & pOSU hate aside, the 4 “best” teams imho:

    1. UGA
    2 Michigan
    3. pOSU
    4. Bama

Have the 2 SEC & B1G play each other in the semi’s.

I’m a big TCU admirer, incredible season. They lost their CG to a 9-3 Kansas St team, in a conference that many here say is weak. TCU is not one of the 4 “best”, they’re not better than Bama, who would win handily, imho.

Saying Bama is one of the 4 best teams is discounting their 2 losses like they never happened. If that is the case, why bother having a regular season. Why bother letting any teams besides the SEC and Big10 compete for a championship.
You want to punish TCU for an overtime loss in a championship game after going undefeated but reward Bama for losing twice in the regular season and not even winning their division.

    OSU out, TCU in.

Ohio State just proved they can’t compete. Already saw it.

TCU has lost one game by three inches. Maybe they can’t compete with UM either but that hasn’t been proven, like OSU.

Bama def can compete. They could show up without Saban and have a solid chance.

No other contenders. The rest have all been man-hammered out of a 4 team discussion.

So you think TCU is one of the 4 “best”, and Bama is not?? Okay, no problem, I get that, but I don’t agree. pOSU didn’t make their CCG, didn’t win their division, and lost by 3+ TD’s at home in their last game.

Neither did Bama, lost twice. If Bama was a one loss team, every argument can be that they are the better team. But they lost twice to lesser ranked teams.

Look at it like this. If you were to build a superconference with the 50 best teams would you put TCU in there?

I think you would, so you have to look at them as an equal no matter the conference they play in.

By one play each time, on the road. They proved they can’t win every game, not that they can’t stay within four scores at their own stadium, which is what OSU screamed out to all that will hear two weeks ago.

In conclusion you believe TCU & pOSU are both “better” teams than Bama? Again, it’s supposed to be the 4 “best” teams, not the 4 who lost the least.

Proven this weekend, any team can beat any team on any day.
I use wins and losses as measurement of best teams. Bama lost twice, the others once.

You have to draw a line. If you don't you might as well give Bama a 3/4 loss cushion every year.

Why are we giving OSU a freebie after that debacle? TCU loses by three inches, NOT WORTHY!! OSU gets humiliated by a team they likely have to play again to win anything, but let’s see it? Why? We just did. It already happened, just a minute ago. UM shot OSU to the moon! It was like an expanded playoff, OSU was solidly in. And then they were definitively out.

Try it TCU, you have 22 home field advantage points to play with. Can you put up a little more resistance than OSU?

Why are you giving Bama a pass after losing twice?
If they lost once and OSU and Bama had the same record. Then yes you can make the argument for Bama. 2 loses is a definitive out in my book. If all we had left were 2 loss teams then again an argument for Bama can be made.

Already explained it. OSU just played in the playoff. They played the #2 seed, although they did have an unfair advantage playing at home. That advantage allowed them to keep the slaughter to 22. I just watched that game. It was the last one they played. It was about 8 days ago. Good try OSU. I mean I assume they TRIED.

I haven’t seen Bama get blasted out of their own stadium yet. I would be happy to take them and the 22 points against Michigan.

Now you’re exaggerating with a 3/4 loss cushion for Bama every year. When was the last time they lost 3 or 4. You’re aligned with the polls, they are strictly based on wins/losses. You believe TCU is a better team than Bama, got it.

And you would give Bama a pass on every loss, got it. Might as well just hand the title to Bama even if they went o-12 in your book.

The game is played to win or lose. As I said, even records then you can start to dissect the how's and why's.
1 loss is better than 2, period.

Please, Bama homer, what a joke, I even referenced my gump hate above, and put it aside to be objective. This is still all about opinions, every one has one, no problem.

Being objective is the opposite of an opinion.

You are not being objective, you are expressing your opinion.
Objective would look at wins and losses, 1 loss better than 2. Opinion is dissecting 2 losses and saying they are better than 1 loss.

Yes, you can absolutely put in a 2 loss team since no two schedules are alike. Even if two teams played identical teams they play them at different points and circumstances. OSU losing to the only good team on the schedule in spectacular fashion is worse than OT in Death Valley and a miracle last minute pass at UT when their QB was reaching for the Heisman.

And again, it JUST happened. This wasn’t two months ago. It was the last game. They got in the playoff, even got a R1 home game. And got throttled. LSU also got in. They played the #1 seed on a neutral field. Blasted out of their own blast holes. Could have advanced on with a win.

OSU could have advanced if they could have just keep it respectable. OR, they should both consider moving The Game to week 1 so a pimp-slapping is easier to paper over.

I would take the time to find the Bama/UM or TCU/UGA game. I bet Bama and TCU lose. But I don’t have to guess about OSU. They got annihilated about 15 minutes ago.
