Yep. But I don't put this one in him. His QB just made a backbreaking decision on the late INT. Usually there's a few play calls that leave you bewildered when he loses one of these big games but not tonight.

He should have ran the ball and played for OT. I don’t think he had the passing attack needed to drive quickly into FG range, especially without the run threat being there when running a 2 minute offense. Run the clock out and go to OT where he could run his regular offense.

ND’s best recruiting ranking last 4 years was 7th. Had an 18th and 12th in there as well. Proof that if you get the right collection of players you can achieving great things.

I was full on armchair coach in a game I didn’t care about questioning use of time outs at the end

And add to that if you get a cakewalk schedule, there is an even greater chance. TAMU looks to be their best regular season win, then Army.

I wasn't enamored with the offensive play calling by Penn State overall. They had a size advantage along the front and ND relied upon speed rushing and more players in the box than normal. I posted that even if PSU wins the game (actually either team), Allar just isn't a NC caliber QB. Teams get increasingly better as you move up and I said the winner of the OSU/UTx game should be winning the NC game rather handily. I still believe that, although Leonard was tough down the stretch. He (and they) have a puncher's chance.

I do like what the TV guy said near the end of the game in that Freeman is making the masses like ND as a program. I think I want to root for them in the NC, as weird as it feels and sounds.

Because he didn't get to his usual quota of extremely stupid remarks? I missed the.game.and just watched the.replay. Mcelroy is an idiot - I think he.is there to just say "obviously a good call" when it.is anything but. He will say that and he'll even override the "expert" that says a call was wrong. How else would someone with the charisma of a dirty diaper get to call these games?

    He peaked at Cincinnati.

Can’t believe I’m in a spot on the earth where I’ll probably have to cheer for Ohio State to win the championship, since I have zero faith in Texas to win tonight. :(
