    Planned Parenthood is under fire for cartoon ad that encourages children to get on puberty blockers if they think they're transgender and tells them the drugs 'work like a stop sign'

    • Planned Parenthood first shared the cartoon ad on their YouTube account in January, with ways teenagers can delay puberty
    • One of those ways is through the use of puberty blockers, which can halt voice deepening, facial hair growth, and menstrual cycles
    • The organization is getting backlash for the video after it resurfaced last week by Twitter account Eye Inside the Classroom
    What in the hell is happening to our children? Why are libbies trying to change people? This has backlash written all over it.

    One of the amusing parts of pharmaceutical commercials is the voiceover with all the potential side effects. It's careless for PP to make a blanket statement that puberty blockers are safe without listing the potential side effects. Actually, I don't think they should be gearing these kinds of videos for prescription drugs to children at all.

    Also noteworthy…. today is national ‘coming out’ day. My wife’s company is making her do a conference call to speak to this topic.

    Kids are obviously not going to be able to get these without a parent approval and doctor prescription. John Stewart did a great show on this. There are guidelines for doctors, like this one published at the Mayo Clinic...
    • Show a long-lasting and intense pattern of gender nonconformity or gender dysphoria
    • Have gender dysphoria that began or worsened at the start of puberty
    • Address any psychological, medical or social problems that could interfere with treatment
    • Have entered the early stage of puberty
    • Provide informed consent

    I honestly have no clue where you are going with this. She has to speak about it because her job requires it. Also I wouldn't have any issues whatsoever if a black man had to speak about issues facing white women as part of his hypothetical job requirement.

    I was mostly goofing off btw.

    Hopefully employees are not forced to speak. In fact, I think we have a sexual harassment awareness course coming up and I kinda hope with this group that employees' mics are muted, lol.
