Trump also blasted Pete Buttigieg, who served as Transportation secretary during the Biden administration.

“He’s a disaster now. He’s just got a good line of bullshit,” Trump said of Buttigieg. “Well he runs it, 45,000 people, and he’s run it right into the ground with his diversity.”

Trump was asked how he could be so sure diversity played a role in the crash when he acknowledged himself the air traffic controllers may not have done anything wrong, he told reporters it was because he has “common sense."

Trump's attempt to place the blame on DEI in the hiring of air traffic controllers is pure bull shit. The reality is that to even get into the Air Traffic Controller's Academy in Oklahoma one has to pass an aptitude test. The failure rate for the test is roughly 50%. A significant percentage of ATC students who enter the training program washout. After completing the program at the academy in Oklahoma City air traffic controllers are assigned to small airports with the majority spending most of their careers at relatively small and medium sized airports. Only the most elite air traffic controllers are assigned to airports like DCA or LGA. My source is a board on aviation issues and a large percentage of the posters are pilots both current and former commercial and military, engineers and air traffic controllers. This post is based on a combination of posts on that board in response to questions regarding the qualifications for air traffic controllers and the procedures for obtaining a position as an air traffic controller.

The FAA was too white? I don’t know who the air traffic controller is but I bet he has darker skin so that that Trump can call him inferior based on his skin color.. or her… which I am sure they are praying for a deep voiced trans dark skinned air traffic controller.

 

Last week when he visited California to inspect the fire damage, he took the opportunity to criticize the mayor and I asked “was that really the time and place to criticize and make it political and create further division?” and of course Trump zealots responded with an emphatic “YES that was the perfect time to call it out.” I’m guessing they will feel this press conference held just a few hours after a devastating tragedy that led to the loss of 60+ people was also the best time to criticize and make it political. At some point we can’t only blame Trump for being a dumbass, we have to blame the clowns who continue to enable, support and defend his dumbassery.

This dumbass within his first two weeks made all kinds of cuts to the FAA and almost immediately afterwards something tragic happens, and he has the balls to blame it on DEI without any proof. When will people realize you were had, that Trump is the biggest dipshit to ever grace the White House, and that he and his cabinet picks are going to be absolutely disastrous for this country? Buckle up, folks, it’s going to be a loooooooong four years. I won’t be flying while this man is in office.
