I’ll take Riggens. May not be a gator but I got my first down.

Earlier I posted my pick by combining the runner with their OLine, The Great Wall of Florida. That said if I only went by RB then its Emmitt Smith and here's why. True story that I've discussed a few times over the last several years. When Emmitt was still at Pensacola Escambia his team came to Ocala to play my alma mater the Forest Wildcats. Everyone new it was impossible odds to think we had a chance to stop the visitors. For the first quarter and half of the second quarter every time Emmitt got the ball it was a first down for Escambia, literally every time no matter what down or distance. The only time they did not get a first down was when they subbed Emmitt out, handed off to the fullback, or threw one of the few passes just to keep the defense "honest". The score was something like 28-7 or worse. Then it happened and I can still see the play in my mind. On first down around mid field, Escambia ran a toss sweep left to the home sideline. Emmitt was tackled for an 8 yard gain, and failed to get the first down. The home crowd rose to their feet to give the defense a standing ovation for holding Emmitt Smith to an 8 yard gain. Next play, Escambia ran the same play and Emmitt took it to the house.

I watched him a couple times in hs and it sounds like the same game although it wasn’t. It just wasn’t fair. If the front seven didn’t get him, he ran right at the db’s and ran them over like they weren’t there. He was sec ready.

Emmitt running behind David Williams. Emmitt simply did not lose yardage.

  7. Emmitt Smith. My family has watched him score touchdowns from 2 yards out ever since he was a kid, so I automatically think of him when it comes to running backs finding holes amongst a pile of linemen.

I think I’ll take Emmett. But, I think James Jones needs a spot on the list.

If it’s a 2 point conversion I’m going with Kerwin! Still can’t figure out how h found the end zone on that play, on that day (bad knee), and against that defense.

Who's coaching? I'm sure one of our coaches is calling play action in that situation. /s

Shouldn't even be a question. It's Emmitt. He never loses yardage.

    The legend keeps on growing!

As long as it is the legend...and not the player...that is growing!

Time your jump and get just as high. Barry Krauss did it to Mike Guman in the 1979 Nat Champ game. No easy task though.
[IMG] Of course #43 got to Guman's legs and didn't let him jump as high as he might have.

We just need to teach him how to hold the ole pigskin and then let him go to work mashing people.
