Pete Hegseth Awarded Silver Star For Enduring Roomful Of Hysterical Women | Babylon Bee

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a historic first, a current presidential cabinet nominee received an official military commendation, as Pete Hegseth was awarded the Silver Star for enduring a roomful of hysterical women during his Senate confirmation hearing.

In less than one full day of questioning before the Senate Armed Services Committee, Hegseth withstood a near-constant barrage from female Democratic senators, leaving witnesses amazed by his heroic display of courage and determination.

"A truly astounding example of toughness and bravery in the face of danger," Republican Senator Eric Schmidt said. "I've heard a lot of inspiring stories over the years from combat veterans, but what we witnessed today was impressive. What Pete Hegseth endured today will go down in history books."

    +

Hegseth was modest after receiving the honor. "It's just part of the job," he said. "Hearing live rounds whizzing by your head in combat is good preparation for dealing with feminist senators."

Pete Hegseth Clarifies Women Allowed In Combat Roles But It’s A Huge Turnoff - The Onion
WASHINGTON—In an evident attempt to walk back previous inflammatory statements, prospective Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth clarified Thursday that although he now believes women should be allowed in combat roles, he still sees that as a huge turnoff. “While I want to state that I have nothing but respect for the female troops serving our country, it’s important to stress that thinking about that sort of thing is a real boner killer,” said Hegseth, adding that even a “total knockout, 10 out of 10″ would be marked down several points in his book if she were dressed up in a baggy, shapeless military uniform and given an assault rifle. “Personally, I believe there are several aspects of their biology that make women far better equipped to be sexy back on the homefront. It also really grosses me out thinking of them with, like, a butch buzz cut and muscles. It should be up to each individual servicewoman to decide whether she wants to be deployed to the front lines and turned into a total uggo. If not, there’s certainly a lot of room for them to look like absolute bombshells dressed as Army nurses.” Hegseth went on to suggest his mind might be changed if the military dress code were amended to require female soldiers to wear only a camouflage bra and panties on the battlefield.

He's unqualified!! And status quo has been doing a bang up job! :emoji_joy:

Pentagon can't account for 63% of nearly $4 trillion in assets
DOD regularly buys parts and equipment it doesn’t need because it can’t keep track of the parts and equipment it already owns

Is that your interpretation or did he actually say that? I know he was asked the question but I don’t believe he said yes but I could be wrong since I only had the confirmation hearing on in the background.

My interpretation he's an alcoholic or that he said he'd give up booze?

Yes I realize it's huffpo, but there's direct quotes. You decide

refused to answer whether he would obey an unlawful order or not..and they are still going to approve him..I mean wtf..as if being a proven drunk, rapist, and fraud isn't enough

I’m a Marine. I Can’t Get One Part of the Pete Hegseth Hearing Out of My Head.

At his Senate confirmation hearing yesterday, Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth refused to state whether he would follow an unlawful order given by President-elect Donald Trump. During the nationwide protests after George Floyd’s murder in 2020, Trump asked the then chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, “Can’t you just shoot them, just shoot them in the legs or something?” It is entirely conceivable that during his second term, what was previously a question becomes an order.

Everyone in the military chain of command swears an oath to the Constitution that requires them to disobey unlawful orders—and to be very clear, a mass shooting conducted by the government against its own citizens is definitely that. If the secretary of defense is unwilling to fulfill that oath in contradiction of a commander in chief who demands absolute fealty from his subordinates, it will fall on the uniformed career service members to uphold the Constitution and ensure that the military is not unleashed on American civilians. Although individual service members are legally authorized to use force in acts of self-defense against an imminent threat, an order to fire on civilians would be not just unlawful—a violation of the rules for the use of force—but a war crime under the laws of armed conflict.

An order by Trump to deploy the military and have it open fire on protesters would be catastrophic in a way few Americans who haven’t served in uniform realize. Unlike the National Guard at Kent State, today’s military is significantly more lethal. In 1970 the Ohio National Guard killed four protesters and wounded nine at Kent State University, firing bolt-action M1 Garand rifles, which held an eight-round magazine and could fire 40 to 50 rounds a minute. As one National Guard member there that day recalled: “I distinctly heard one shot fired; then all hell broke loose when 28 men fired a total of 67 shots over a period of 13 seconds.”

Actually it sounds much more like the once and future president who had an affair with the woman who became wife number two while he was still married to wife no. 1 and several years later had an affair with the woman who became wife no. 3 while he was still married to wife no. 2.

affairs happen in marriages and I am not condoning it- Trump did have an affair with Maples while married to Ivanna- Marla then cheated on him and they separated in 97 and divorced in 99 - Trump and Melania did not start seeing each other until late 98- Melania is who brought Trump to the Lord. Hegseth is on his 3rd marriage and if I understand it correctly it was at some point in his 3rd marriage that he came to know Jesus. People make mistakes but our God is a forgiving God and at some point in marriage number 3 he owned ip to his misdeeds and asked Jesus for forgiveness and dedicated his life to God.

Hold on!! Don’t tell me that someone who supports abortion is judging the religious character of someone who had an affair while married??

He has already said he’s a born again Christian. Is that not a thing anymore or just in this case?

I have NEVER said I support abortion and I do not. nor do I condone cheating. For a person to bring Christ into his heart he has to own up and ask for forgiveness for his misdeeds. It is obvious to me that both these gentlemen have made their amends.

This is the same crowd who said Kamala slept her way to the top because she had an affair with a man who had been separated from his wife for 10 years and he appointed her to the CA Medical Commission Board (the spring board to the Presidency). The same crowd brings Jesus into it to forgive their guy so laughable they are just nothing more than (group insult).

They probably think Trump yelling "Oh God" in bed while he cheated on his 3rd wife with a porn star counts as asking for forgiveness.
