Yes he was and deservedly so. An attorney is considered an officer of the court and is held to a higher standard than simply not being a criminal. Rudy Giuliani, Jenna Ellis and Sidney Powell were also subject to sanctions for their roles in trying to overturn the results of the 2020 Presidential election.

 

Apparently Ernst was seriously considering voting against confirmation of Hegseth until she was threatened with being primaried by supporters of Hegseth and the President-elect.

Having a masters degree from Harvard and being a major in the army reserve does not qualify one to be secretary of defense. But then add in the sexual assault allegations and the alcohol abuse, the marital infidelities with his first 2 wives, and you wouldn't hire this guy for a middle manager position at your company.
