I can think of a few, and probably more like a few handfuls if contemplating former posters.

It was crazy to me there were active and retired military trying to overthrow the govt and calling the Capitol police the traitors.

It’s like…you turned down that govt pension and healthcare bro? Of course not. I guess they assume after the collapse they’ll still collect a check… from govt. Never try to make sense of these people’s thought processes. It’s a black hole.

On a somewhat separate note, if it comes out that he had diagnosed mental health issues and was taking meds at some point, many people will assume the prescription drugs were to blame. I don't have stats on it either way, but it always occurs to me in those cases that it's probably more likely that bad things happen when people stop taking medication as opposed to starting medication.

Absolutely. To the extent I care to know any more about this, I hope someone looks into his online audience and the history of exchanges. Admittedly, the vast, vast majority of people who talk about heinous acts online never act on them, and government would overreact if it responded with law enforcement every time horrible actions were talked about. But irrational as he was, he didn't just commit the acts, he thought he had an audience that should see. That may be worth lookin at

I'm not surprised. I started seeing a change when Obama was elected. Usually, people kept their political sentiments to themselves. I started noticing a lot of slick talk in military/government workplaces. They'd say little things like "your President" when talking about Obama. It started getting progressively worse and open.

Misogyny and a history of red flags. Shocking. Still no problem getting a gun

Pa. man accused of beheading his father bought gun a day before attack, officials say
Pa. man accused of beheading his father bought gun a day before attack, officials say - Tampa Bay Times

Local police said they were called regarding the son three times, the first in 2011 when he had an argument in his driveway, in 2019 when he himself complained that a co-worker had threatened him, and in 2023 when his employer in Philadelphia called about his behavior, asking for legal advice for terminating his employment.

A former colleague who worked with Mohn in Philadelphia delivering flowers last year said Mohn’s misogynistic comments on the job made them uncomfortable, leading staff members to search online for his writings, where he called for overthrowing the government and a “hypothetical violent revolution” against “traitor older generations.”

“This guy is very weird, making people uncomfortable, and he also has all this writing, but you can’t fire people for that,” said one former co-worker, who spoke on the condition they not be named for safety reasons.

Mohn quit about a week or two after the discovery, co-workers said.
