So he was never released from the hospital? That can’t possibly be good news. Post #16 made it seem like he was already recovering. Sounds like he was still going through a lot of stuff or must have had some serious procedures between then and now. Hopefully his doctors figure this out, whatever it is that set his recovery back.
He's been out in public multiple times since the accident. I think he's counting all hospital days, not consecutive hospital days.
He worked in studio for SEC Network last basketball season! So of course he’s been out and about after his accident. But apparently he acquired a very serious infection as a complication this May. I guess to clarify it would help if he was seen over the summer. I hope you are correct about the 100 days thing being cumulative. A 100 day hospital stay would be almost unheard of. Brutal. Timing lines up though. It’s almost exactly 100 days from late May when he referenced the life threatening infection. If he’s had follow ups or other procedures (as expected) it could also be coincidental if the total just reached 100 days since his accident (and a chunk of that would probably be the initial surgeries and stabilizing his original spinal injuries). A terrible thing for anyone to deal with either way, but that would be decidedly less brutal than 100 consecutive days from an infection on top of everything prior…
Dang. I feel really bad for Pat. He’s going through it. Sometimes the best thing is to allow yourself to break and then build yourself back up. It takes a lot of energy to resist it. Who knows… maybe that already happened. Get better Pat!
Spinal cord unjuries like PY's, because of the care required, often result in the kinds of infections Pat has had to endure. That this is happening to him is heartbreaking.
This is Patric Young talking football today, but he sounds pretty good. He does not say how he is doing healthwise.Men's College Basketball Teams, Scores, Stats, News, Standings, Rumors
Patric Young- Walking By Faith on Instagram: "130 days and 14 surgeries later… the recovery journey is still ongoing. When I thought I was missing out I realized that God had me right where He wanted me. I was suffering but in my suffering I was transformed (my hair literally) and still being worked on. Grateful to be here and share more of my story with you all." I Can't speak to all the details but Patrick has had some extremely trying times this past year. What an awesome guy.
Don't know if or what UF can do to help but he needs some support right now. Would love to see some sort of outreach if possible.
