Tonight we’re having an early summertime supper. Freshly made homemade chicken salad with a fresh Romaine salad laced with vine ripe tomatoes and cut up boiled eggs.

Ice cold longnecks and chilled wine are available as desired.

Sorry about your teef! I had both of my back lower molars removed over the past two years and know how much the soft food regimen sucks. I had protein shakes, ice cream, Mac and cheese, and soup (even though I hate soup).

One thing that was a game changer for me was making a easy "cheesy chicken, rice, and veggie casserole" like this one. I found it to be soft enough to spare my extraction sites but a LOT more satisfying/nutritious than other stuff. Easy to make and reheats well. Good luck!

    Thanks @rtlns67 - much appreciated!!!

Copy that on the ice cream, protein shakes, mac/cheese, and soup. I just had a bowl of Tomato soup and it was delicious! I can't imagine not liking soup.....yikes!

This is the Campbell's condensed and instead of adding a can of water I do half a can of half&half....mmmmmm........

I'm going to stick to my liquids for now. Doc said the less chewing I do the faster it will heal.

    GO Gators!

Hey, do what your doc says, and what works for you! Great night to be a Gator.

On soup, I tend to side with Gene Simmons of KISS fame:

We are going out to Sidelines Bar & Grill this evening to celebrate our granddaughter’s 7th birthday. Magnolia Grace has been a blessing to us all since this day seven years ago when she came into our lives.

After a making a huge spread for a Gator basketball viewing party yesterday where we thought we would eat at halftime but the ribs were not quite done and then two huge loads in the dishwasher this morning and shreading a chicken I smoked last week we are having chicken enchiladas tonight. Smoked chicken makes awesome enchiladas.

Do you make it from scratch? I do and it is awesome.

Tonight making "sheet pan" fajitas from an Epicurious recipe. I have a Blue Star gas range and the broiler is WAY hotter than other usual ranges. Not quite commercial grade but way up there. I have to take that into account.

I know the recipe but never tried it. I actually like the condensed store bought version, but willing to experiment, thanks.

Cooking a 6 lb. Bone-In Pork Shoulder Butt Roast in the oven. Will be for BBQ pulled pork.

Probably have to freeze most of it until I can eat normal foods again. This soft food diet isn't all that bad once you get used to it...lol....

I had Tomato soup again last night...yum!

I know you're just kidding around but seriously - this has been a positive for me. Having another bowl of tomato soup right now in fact! :)

Tomato soup with a grilled cheese was a staple at my house growing up.

And later, after we left the nest, we learned about dropping pieces of cheddar cheese into the soup itself to create molten chucks of wonder! Kind of a bachelor thing, I suppose...lol...

Hey BTW....just passing this along with no affiliation.....I have been buying Black Olives - Extra Large and pitted - from Amazon lately and they are wonderful!

Pearl brand and I think a good deal compared to what they go for in the grocery store.

    $14.78 for an 8 pack!

They have a long shelf life too so not a problem stocking up ahead of time.

We are picking up our supper tonight from our newest place in town The Cajun Menu. We’ve already been in the restaurant so we know the food is very good.

Ms. Jan is going with their low country boil and I am going to have their red beans’n rice with Cajun fried catfish.

A tumbler or two of Elijah Craig for myself and Ms. Jan’s staying with her chilled wine.
