Does the dishwasher have a series of buttons at the inside top of the door? When we had a problem with our Bosch it involved resetting some of the buttons to default positions

That stinks. Though I’m sure a tech can probably get it going again.

We bought a Bosch a year & half ago and have been pleased. The one we had before it made it 13 years… which we were happy with.

I was a Regional account manager with Sears some years back, over appliance services. So I learned my way around the industry to a large degree. Unfortunately, as technology advances there are just more things to break. And in order to keep the pricing competitive, parts are made cheaper. If you’re getting 10+ years out of an appliance you’re doing pretty good.

    Hope it turns out ok.

First thing I tried was the three second push on the start/stop button for a reset. That reset the machine but did not fix the problem.

Next I tried the hard reset by turning off the power at the breaker for over an hour. That also did not fix the problem.

I think there is something amiss with the drain pump.

We had a Bosch before and it was OK so this time we sprung for the high end one and it was amazing and super quiet. They have a light that shines on the floor when it is running so that you know it is running. You can hear it if it is really quiet in the house, but otherwise you wouldn't know.

You would think that in a town the size of Gainesville there would be a Bosch authorized appliance service that could do warranty repairs. Nope. Closest one is south of Ocala and only comes to Gainesville on Tuesdays and tomorrow and the week after are all booked up. I am on their call list if there is a cancellation.

And I discounted springing for a Miele thinking that service would be hard.

We have had much discussion in the Lurker household about Christmas dinner. It sounds like we have settled on grouper with a macadamia nut crust as the centerpiece. Still working on what goes with it.

I make this amazing brussels sprout dish with pistachio nuts that is a lot of work. The brussels sprouts are all rendered into individual leaves. I think that I might suggest this along with a yellow rice pilaf with scallions, yellow bell pepper and celery and some spices.

But not French lamenting being on the losing side of a GREAT World Cup finals.

Probably some sort of computer glitch that should have been resolved with the soft and hard reboots.

Everytime my MIL or wife have a computer problem I suggest a hard reboot and it almost always works.

It didn't work for my dishwasher for a few days and many attempts and suddenly it did work. Maybe the problem is a door latch detector being flakey.

Late supper post tonight but we’ve been busy packing to head up to Jasper, Ga., in the morning.

Grilling bone-in country cut ribs indirect over cherry wood smoke. Baked potatoes on the top rack.

We are testing Ms. Jan’s turnips & mustard greens that she’s made for our Christmas Day meal.

Four Roses Single Barrel 100 proof in a tumbler for me tonight-Ms. Jan’s sticking with her wine.

I got that as a gift from some friends and still have a little left. Tasty.

Tonight I am making escarole soup.

Tonight is jambalaya with a twist. It will have andouille sausage and chicken but the chicken will be left over jerk chicken thighs. It will be spicy. In the words of Justin Wilson "I guarentee."

Well, we’re up in north Ga., with the kids for the holidays-last night when we went to bed it was 40*. This morning it was 4* at daylight—currently it’s 6* with a windchill of -13*…..

Tonight Ms. Jan’s treating us to her homemade chicken’n’dumplings. Our sides will be cream 40’s & petite butter beans with brown’n’serve rolls on the side.

It’ll be Kentucky Straight Bourbon drinks for the boys and the girls are split between vodka drinks and wine. The Merriest Christmas to all of y’all!

It was another holiday round of refrigerator/freezer Tetris this week. Moving things around trying to make room for this weekends meals. So had some uneventful meals this week in order to clean things out.

Stepping things up tonight. Im making a Gorgonzola, pear & chicken salad with honey roasted walnut crumbles and cranberry-raisins. And a small bowl butternut squash soup on the side.

That should hold us until tomorrow night when things get interesting.

    Merry Christmas gents!

Tonight we’re going to be at Alan & Abbey’s for supper—being as tomorrow will be a ridiculous amount of fun and food we all voted to keep it simple tonight.

Alan’s grilling cheeseburgers and hotdogs with a variety of chips to go along with. :emoji_hamburger: :emoji_hotdog:

The full bar is open so it’s pick your own choice. :emoji_beers::emoji_wine_glass::emoji_tumbler_glass::emoji_tropical_drink:
