Spewing homophobic and ignorant language over something as silly as sports is even more low class.

I love Knoxville, didn't say anything about the people of Knoxville, I said the kids in the videos were using homophobic slurs. You can call it what you want, fear, hate ignorance whatever, but I heard the F***tt word a ton and say those same people who slung that word around I guarantee they also throw other slurs around too. And this was just over a short with UGA on it. Imagine if it was some real heated exchange. Like i said it's sick and I don't like it. These kids of this generation are the ones who are supposed to unite everyone not carry on the hate.

Last few years the Dodgers games have been having some wild fights in the stands.

That would not go well. I remember Bucs games where the Philly fans were getting kicked out and arrested in droves. Saw a women in an Eagles jersey swing on a cop. They're nuts.

My wife and I had Gator stuff on at our game in Columbia. Everyone was very nice.
Of course we are older and we were very respectful and would never antagonize.
Which makes me think this guy was doing all he could to get a reaction.

He’s trolling for exactly what he got. Trolls are idiots in the first place. Those fans are lowlifes but I wouldn’t feel sorry for him one bit if someone knocked him out.

Just curious as to why you " love Knoxville"?

I've visited a few times and maybe I've missed something, but don't see the attraction, except for the Lyons View area, old downtown, meh campus, terrible traffic logistics, no street lights, few sidewalks, ton of strip malls, etc, and that ugly shade of orange everywhere. They do have some good restaurants.

Thanks in advance for some positives.

No, clearly I'm calling out your misuse of the word phobia but this discussion doesn't need to be furthered on a sports forum.

Personally I don't really like it either but I've got a really great job that requires me to be within a 4 hour drive, a home at 2.75% interest rate and a 9/10 school district for my two young kids.

I'd move in a heartbeat if I could find a comparable job and it wouldn't triple my mortgage.

    2/10 climate
    2/10 scenery
    1/10 bikability/walk ability
    No international Airport
    Tennessee fans

I can go on but that's enough. The people are great though.

Yep, that all sounds like my experiences. The only people I've ever seen walking around/biking were the homeless. They have a beautiful river but only limited access/views to it. Airport is actually nice given the town's size, tho not many direct flight options. Farragut isn't a bad area I guess, but west Knox housing prices are absurdly high.
Congrats on the mortgage, u probably also bought a few years back when housing was much cheaper. At least that's what I've been told.

Yeah we're in Farragut and the guy next door to me just paid roughly 60% more for his house than I did a few years ago. At this interest rate I shudder to think what his mortgage is.

Personally it's too cold of a climate for me, too far away from good recreation (at least 45 minutes or so), and lacks sidewalks and bike paths. Again though the people are generally very friendly.

I should have been more precise.... pigeon forge and Gatlinburg is where I usually visit. Its Just a few minutes outside of Knoxville, but the zoo in Knoxville was a hit with my kids. I Like to get a cabin in pigeon forge/ Gatlinburg every year or two. Enjoy going skiing and letting the kids see some snow. Dollywood is a fun way to blow some money too.

Yep, all that is what I tell my wife, but she likes the seasons and we have family/friends that have moved to the area. I like to bike, but that's not happening in Knox. One just paid $700K and will put in another $75-100k to get it how they like it.. Big house/yard but still not cheap.
    Thanks for the input.

Ok, I get that. We did that area after one of the Gator NCs and I wore Gator shirts everywhere. Got a lot of dirty looks but no comments. For skiing we always go out west, but I get it.
    Thanks.

Yeah that area is nice for visiting.

To be honest the thing that bothers me most about Knoxville area is the sidewalks that just kinda end for no reason and the bike paths that are seemingly randomly placed and not connected. I used to bike commute for work, to cruise downtown and even shop when I lived in both Gainesville and Denver and frankly the Knoxville area is extremely car centric in comparison. I'm not a fan of driving, bad for the body, environment and wallet, not to mention the amount of accidents.

Miss riding the bike from my condo on 62nd and locking it up next to the stadium to catch a game, then either bike home or party and catch the later Gator bus home if I'm too blitzed.

Yep, no bike paths and few sidewalks and u take ur life in hand on those windy 2 lane roads with no lights. Also, I noticed some folks like to drive at night with their brights on. Then there are all those low hanging power lines.

Guess I've been spoiled with underground power lines, sidewalks, bike paths and street lights in Fla.
