Quote my post where I said win loss is the only way to measure improvement. Otherwise, you should look in the mirror with your accusations of arrogant assumptions. Also, I didn't define anything, I cited a reputable source to demonstrate the original use of the term was appropriate.

A simple yes or no. Is 5>4>1?

The amount of love and flowers posters on this Gator forum want to give Norvell and FSU is quite frankly sickening.

You pray all you’re compelled to.
It is a fact we’re seeing improvement in our football program. But, ultimately, we’ll all know for sure in about 2 years if it all comes together.

I think you're finally catching on. Its all a bunch of hot air that no one pays any attention to....and I guess if I'm wasting my time, then you are too.

You are the one who said it didn’t matter. I don’t waste my time My point is if you don’t think your comments matter, then why make them? How many times have posters posted comments from Tennessee’s boards? FSU’s? Miami’s? Not only do our fans and players read comments but other boards read comments that we make.

But I am glad you are acknowledging that your comments are nothing but hot air and should therefore be taken with a grain of salt. I will reply to any of your comments going forward with an asterisk denoting your admission of you our own irrelevancy.

A fortiori. You said that one program did improve by 3 games from the previous coaching staff. Common sense, which might be too much to ask for in this forum, tells us that if you are denoting improvement by 3 wins more than the previous year and nothing else, then that is your definition of improvement.

I was the one who corrected you by pointing out that wins are not the only measurement of improvement. Apparently that reality escapes you.

No that’s you eating crow rather than openly acknowledging the indefensibility of your puerile comments.

OK Webster, how do you define it then?

You corrected me? Again, all you have to do is click on the +quote button on my post, then use the insert quote function and post where I said wins are the only measurement of improvement. It's really simple, yet seems to be well beyond your capabilities.

You probably should give up. If he or she can't acknowledge that 3 wins is an improvement over 1 win and that 5 wins is an improvement over 3 wins, then I think you're just pissing into the wind.

You're p*ssing into the wind trying to argue. For some this is a serial b*tchfest, an opportunity just to bash CBN to get out their own frustrations. You're dealing with some very unhappy people who don't want to see the positives, only the negatives. Disengage for your own sake.

Great advice. But I am having fun trolling them. Their answers and explanations are epically entertaining.

If your argument was that it was okay to keep Harbaugh because he improved (wins) from year 1 to year 2, but we should essentially start the machinery (the gist of your comments) for Napier's replacement who did not improve (wins) from year 1 to year 2, then the inescapable conclusion to be drawn is that YOU limit the definition of improvement to an increase in wins. We all know by your furious backpedaling from that absurd position that there is no definitional or factual basis for such limitation. Even you are now sheepishly admitting in your comments how myopic and simplistic your analysis was.

Your continued failures at being able to competently distinguish the Stanford circumstances with Harbaugh ultimately winning an NC and Napier's situation with us is why there has to be greater moderation of these threads.

When we have "fans" who are openly rooting for our failure just so their sick and demented personal animus regarding a coach can be validated, we would better off banning them from the forum. Either you enjoy looking like a fool being pejorative towards a coach who is the only Florida coach in 14 years who has landed two top 10 recruits in the same class (one being the number 1 recruit in college football) and unlike Meyer, one on offense and one on defense, or you are a f'ng hater.

In either event, we would be better off without your negativity especially when it is based upon the absurd justifications that you offer.

If you are so deficient in your logic and deductive reasoning that you failed to see the import of your comments, then take a course on it, and stop learning in the thread of hard knocks.

Harbaugh improved over his predecessor, BN has not, that was the entire point from the get go. Their situations are not the same, so the comparison is useless.

Not backpedaling one bit, BN needs to win more than he loses or he is gone. At the end of the day that is what matters. Every other aspect, culture, recruiting, S&C, nutrition, etc. all is in service of winning football games.

LOL, now we are moving to Harbaugh winning a NC at a different University over a decade later. Well damn why didn't you lead with that? I can't wait for BN to win a NC with another team in the 2030's.

Those last 3 paragraphs are top notch, bet you are quite proud of yourself.

Nah, reading his stupidity has become a highlight of visiting GC. I'll go until they lock the thread. Actually surprised it hasn't happened yet.

I mean, your argument is just silly. You’re stating categorically that SWAC’s “patience” paid off, when in fact they were out of patience, and Norvell started meeting expectations just in time. If that’s supposed to be your thesis for why Napier needs the same amount of time to show improvement, then no problem. I haven’t seen anyone actually calling for Napier to be fired, only that the grace period is over (and it is). I don’t think Napier even needs to win 10 games like Norvell did. But he needs a winning season, all whining about how unfair the schedule, the Portal, and NIL are notwithstanding. Maybe Napier is going somewhere special with this. I don’t know. I hope so. But based on what we’ve seen so far, the criticism is fair. And he can start mitigating the noise by winning games. When you do weird things like having two on-field OL coaches and literally no one is at the wheel for special teams, but you win, then you’re a genius. And everyone just accepts the brilliant innovation going on there. But when you do weird stuff and you lose, and even the most casual followers of the game can see both the OL and ST are contributing to those losses, then you’re just weird. And people wonder why they’re paying top dollar for Vanderbilt performance with a dash of weirdness.

“Billy Napier, Florida: The Gators' hire of Napier looked strong at the time, as they landed a coach who had been very selective about his first Power 5 job after a successful stint at Louisiana. But Napier is just 11-14 overall, 6-10 in the SEC, and has had challenges with on-field consistency, retaining and attracting top players, and maintaining a strong staff. Florida hasn't had a coach make it through Year 4 since Urban Meyer and might be hesitant about another quick change. The status of athletic director Scott Stricklin, who hired Napier, also should be monitored here. But if Napier can't navigate a brutal schedule -- Florida State, Miami and UCF in nonleague play, plus SEC trips to Texas and Tennessee and Georgia in Jacksonville -- it's hard to see him back in 2025.“

So sayith someone without an emotional stake in the matter: Napier is on the hot seat. He needs to start winning. Immediately.

Why is it so hard for some of you to grasp that Napier is NOT on the hotseat? and that most of that narrative is generated from our direct recruiting competitors to use against us?

I'd love for us to look better on gameday (especially coaching) but unless you haven't been paying attention, only Georgia, Texas, and LSU will have better rosters than us next year and pretty even with Ole Miss'. This wasn't the case when CBN got here. And much of the returning talent he inherited acted akin to a 4-year-old dog that was never potty trained correctly.
