I'm not being obtuse. I responded to an incorrect assertion that the deceased "lunged for the glove box." That did not happen. Your second sentence is a two-part assumption and I entirely disagree. Did he grab something?

The fact that you are sitting here and implying that you think it's perfectly fine for cops to shoot and kill him if he chooses to exercise his constitutional rights really says it all about what you think of police and the rule of law.

 

People do dumb shit every day that costs them their lives. When you have two officers on you, you're clearly told to put your hands on the wheel, they then open the car door to apprehend you and you reach down to grab something in the console, you're probably going to get shot. Everybody knows police have guns. Everybody knows police are not to be toyed with. If you ignore all conventional wisdom in life, bad things will happen to you. I get that you hate authority, but we all have to bow to authority at some point to live in a civilized society. If that was my son, I'd be thinking WTF was he thinking reaching for something in the console as officers are opening his car doors?? Didn't I raise my boy better than that??? Followed by years of deep depression, because I didn't teach my son to respect law enforcement. I wouldn't be standing out in front of the cameras acting like my son did nothing wrong and was shot for no reason. But as long as there are people like you who will fall for it, they will continue to parade in front of cameras instead of acknowledging their son's actions may have had a role in the end result. Not because they truly think their son is without blame, but because they're looking for a payout from the city of Orlando.
