Didn't we used to do a "midnight Madness" type thing? Glad to see this back. NOV 1st. 2022-23 Men's Basketball Schedule - Florida Gators
Man at least Todd Golden learned this from Bruce Pearl. You have to create a fan base that is close in Gainseville. AD Scott Strickland thank you also! Just one more thing, we should make empty seats a thing of the past. If someone sits in a box for more than five minutes, we should let high school kids and college kids shuffle in the seats till they get back. A you could charge $5 for this part time seats. Also any unsold seats from the University on Game day could sell these for ten dollars. This might not be a perfect system, but with some thought as to a full or near full house every game brings in sales and goodwill. Let’s figure it out.
Yeah, it shouldn't be that hard to get people there. In these days of online everything, just make it known when ticket holders aren't going, the seats will be donated to grade-schoolers, or this frat, or that sorority (preferably the sorority), or the swim team, or the chess club (they need to get out more), or faculty, or groundskeepers, or anyone. Some of them will become fans. Heck, for the Nov. 1 scrimmage, not only should it be free, we should give $1 to everyone that walks in the door. We'll make that back and more on Coke sales alone.
There should be 4 times as many students at games. You achieve that through social media, contests, freebies, challenges, themes ... incentives and making it the hot ticket. Of course an exciting, winning team makes all the difference.
