Sad that we cannot find common ground somewhere in the middle.

I’m a pessimist and don’t think the divide will end, only get wider. The only way I see a unified USA is if we are attacked or at war.

It will take a full repudiation of MAGA.

There are plenty of negative things one could say about Biden, but he didn't intentionally divide the country for personal or political gain. That is practically all Trump does.

But yeah, it won't happen. Because MAGAs are so happy that they finally got to...... well, who really even knows what they got. They got their feelings affirmed and told that their grievances were real? They had literally dozens of offramps from Trumpy division and crime. But they enjoy the sugar-rush of feeling aggrieved too much to have taken them.

More like feed them the rope. . . .

Honestly, that's the best strategy. Let MAGA moron itself out of existence.

Remember when D's thought it "was all over" when Obama won in 2008? Yeah, me too. Problem is, MAGA will be so horrifically bad we'll probably end up with some equally stupid Che Guevara liberal as the backlash.

While I do not embrace the maga lifestyle I do wonder at what point Dems will actually blame all the dem non voters. If Trump and maga are so bad why did so many dems stay home this time around. After all Biden got 81 million votes. Where did those voters go? Did they look at Kamala and just say he’ll no.. not voting for her? Did they decide that Trump as president wasn’t so bad after 4 years for Biden? Where did they go?
    And yall
Keep calling everyone and anyone who voted for Trump a loser, stupid, rapist loving (that’s for you Jo) idiot. It has worked so well for you.

Personally, I don’t care whom is president. Doesn’t really make a huge difference in my life. The sycophant fan boys running around crowing and peacocking is fun to watch though.

With Trump "loyalists" installed at the Pentagon, like everywhere else?

I'm surprised that Trump hasn't fired a dozen or so generals already. Wait, let me go check today's breaking news.

The D's I talk to don't care. Frankly, they've just given up and are focusing inward. This is all on MAGA now, though the usual losers will still wave their pom poms and blame everyone but themselves and their moron leader.

I was kind of hoping for a massive purge of both sides before the concrete could set then just a boillerplate 4*. Hell, you could even just go with someone sane like DeSantis or Haley. Personally, it's the purges I'd be looking forward to. Plus, Hegseth is an idiot, so I don't know how effective he will be anyway, at least in the short term.

I wish both parties would start right now looking forward. We need both to offer far better candidates.. my fear is neither will. Dems are looking to go younger and more progressive.. think AOC. Repubs will move to JD Vance and…

Well, we know the answer if it was a year ago. In fact, you and your MAGA boys would probably be rooting for our enemy. Oh, wait. . . .

The role of the Democratic Party is basically to demoralize and demobilize their most fervent partisans and activists. Its a normal state of affairs!

How is it off topic? It directly related to and references YOUR QUESTION.

Maybe we should go lookup the word "Context" before we post again.

Jack of all Trades, Master of None.

Try to please everyone. Please nobody.

Sate the political needs of Bernie Sanders wing. . . . and the Larry Fink wing. Says it all right there.
