Nadi'ya Shelby - 2026 Recruiting Class:

6'0" OH rising junior. She is 2 years away from UF. Seems likely she will grow taller prior to arriving at UF. How much? I have no clue when an athlete like this stops growing taller.

It didn't take long for audiences to become familiar with the name Nadi'ya Shelby.

The Friendswood and Houston Skyline super-star solidified herself as a bona fide game-changer in 2023, when she guided the Mustangs to an undefeated district championship and subsequent appearance in the Regional Quarterfinals.

In doing so, Shelby was named the District 18-5A MVP and the GHVCA 5A Hitter of the Year to add onto her growing list of accolades.

Most recently, the incoming junior OH officially announced her commitment to continue her career at the University of Florida, where she'll join the, now, graduated Jaela Auguste (Grand Oaks) in 2026.

Shelby, who also competes in basketball and track, will look to lead Friendswood once again this Fall, as they aim to represent H-Town in the State Tourney come November.

I thought I read somewhere she is going to reclassify.

Or maybe I dreamed it.

 

I looked through quite a bit to get this little of information. It may be Nadi'ya's plan to reclassify to 2025 from 2026, but I didn't see any reports on it.

 

Love those multi sport athletes who have height/skill to play high level vb

 

will love even more if grows a couple of inches taller.

Just a hopeful lineup to start the season: Stuckey, K. Martin, K. Hutson, L. Harden, A. Rothe, G. Essix. Good firepower at reserves. Jmo

 

Does anyone know if Hutson, Harden, and Roth are 6 rotation players?
My guess, pending good health, is Stuckey, Martin, Harden, Hutson, Elli, and Trinity.

 

I'm not sure we will have a 6 rotation outside as long as we have 5 or 6 DS players on the roster.

 

Injuries derailed a promising season last year.

 

We will have em if they can handle the passing game. Left hitters are usually the best athletes on the court. We’ve always had at least one. If Elle is back that’s great. She was lights out as a freshman. My lineup above post has the two right sides, Stuckey and Martin, so depending on receive or serve Elle would sub in then or if an OH can’t handle the SR game. Jmo
