(VB) Ongoing Volleyball Thread

I know the seeding was right, but Louisville looked like a national champion earlier in the season. Pittsburgh taking the Cardinals out was still a bit of a surprise to me.

I'm picking Wisky to win it all. The Kiddie Corps plus Beason gets stopped in the final by a Badger team that split home and home with the Cornhuskers during the regular season.

 

Pitt has an excellent coach, and imo he was the difference, although his players have to execute. They served Lville off the court and made life miserable for Anna DeBeer(a local HS stud who played for a friend of mine at Assumption HS). I’ll stick with Corns

 

Reagan Rutherford, Kentucky OH who had a total of 28 kills in two matches versus Gators, has entered the VB transfer portal.

Martin certainly deserved it. Here's the complete list of All-Americans. Notice that Merritt Beason is 1st team and only 1 SEC player made the 1st team and she's from Tennessee.

Martin becomes just the fourth Florida freshman named to either the First, Second or Third teams during a rookie campaign, joining Rhamat Alhassan (2014 – Second Team), Kelly Murphy (2008 – Third Team) and her current teammate Alexis Stucky who received Third Team during the 2022 season.

 

Undoubtedly, Reagan wants better coaching and to win a national championship.

 

Gator Volleyball Adds Isabel Martin to 2024 Roster - Florida Gators

 

Great add to an already loaded 2024 roster as an AVCA honorable mention All-American. Still no mention of Bella Lee signing. I wonder if she is a walk-on or an academic scholarship addition?

Are we thinking an inch taller Fitzpatrick or an inch shorter Victoria? Experienced/talented depth like this is outstanding to have on a championship level team.

Isabel will have to earn PT. Talented and athletic so I'm going with an inch taller AC Fitzpatrick. However, the video shows her hitting out of the middle too. Her game is an interesting dynamic added to the 2024 team.

We have two Martins now, so the announcers are going to be challenged when both are on the court.

It’d be nice but I think the difference is the Husker defense, back row and at the net. Jmho of course. It always comes down to serve and receive

 

I've never liked Texas. Even when I was a kid I pulled for Arkansas and Oklahoma when Texas played them. Now that they'll be in the SEC, they move up in my dislike list to the Tennessee level - just below Georgia! Go Huskers.
