Dixon and Kelly played together last year? Not comparing the other Hendrickson at OH with Hutson, but understand if Hutson scared her off; Beason is a very good server and blocker on the Right side…why she left is intel I don’t have; with Kelly, Dixon could’ve been our OH with Hutson with nice depth in AC and Victoria imo. They all can swing but imo the blocking is in the favor of the first two aforementioned. It’s all good. I see things from afar and have no contacts in the program.

So you have vertical;) I so hoped I could start boy’s middle/high school vb in Virginia but wasn’t to be. The perfect sport for those boys who didn’t make a different varsity/JV sport. It’s a tall person’s sport but guys have natural get up and good raw power. Oh well;)

Sunday at 1 0m is a chance for Gator Volleyball to get back on track. They host Alabama on SEC+. Bama is 0-4 in the SEC, 10-5 overall. Currently, Florida is tied with Auburn & Texas A&M for 4th in the SEC at 3-2. Tennessee is 5-0, 14-1; Arkansas is 4-0, 14-2 and Kentucky is 4-1, 6-7. Gotta get it going or we're going to finish in the middle of the pack.

Looking at game stats it appears muff is averaging 10 assists a game how does that compare to what Stuckey was doing?

UF Volleyball improved to 12-3, 4-2 by beating Alabama (10-6, 0-5) in straight sets Sunday afternoon with scores of 25-22, 29-27 & 25-19. The Gators still have too many service errors and their passing was still sloppy at times, but they just had more talent than Alabama, getting 10 blocks to 1, 8 aces to 1 and having only 6 attack errors to their 17. They have a tough stretch of games upcoming, with 3 straight road games at Miss. St. Texas A&M & Ole Miss and then hosting the top 3 teams in the SEC right now in Arkansas, Tennessee & Kentucky.

Last year Stuckey averaged 10.76 assists per set. In the 9 games she played this year she averaged 10.27 assists per set. Muff is averaging 8.35 assists per set not counting today's match. I don't see assists as the main difference between Muff and Stuckey - It's the size difference that made Stuckey an excellent blocker and one who could get kills on occasion. Plus Alexis just had that game awareness and court vision that helped her decide where to go with the ball in a split second where the defense was most vulnerable. Teams are attacking Muff when she's at the net because of her size and very few setters have the in-game instincts of how to run an offense like Stuckey.

Isn't AC playing in KH's spot? It will be good for depth when KH is back, but AC has been fantastic. I think she had the most kills last night.

I think this is AC’s last season. Fwiw, Beason is having a great year so far for the Huskers. Their games are always on the Big 10 network and the wife is a Husker.

When the season started Hutson was rotating that spot with Sofia Victoria and Fitzpatrick wasn't playing much. She barely played against Penn. St. and USF and didn't play at all in the Stanford match. Given the opportunity, though, AC has been tremendous and probably our most consistent player (possibly besides Martin) in spite of being shorter than most outside hitters. She has tons of energy and has played great. Sofia Victoria has the height and a powerful arm, but she's been very inconsistent throughout her career. AC is currently the 2nd leading scorer on the team, behind Kennedy Martin. She's hitting .252 to Martin's .287, while Victoria is hitting .215. I'm a huge Fitzpatrick fan!

Why optimistic? Have you been sworn to secrecy? As much as you post, I find it amazing you didn't share the injury situations with the rest of us.

Let UNL lose their freshman phenom setter along with their top LOH and let's see just how good of a season Beason would continue to have. Comparing UF and UNL can't be done with accuracy due to UF's injuries. However, when UF was at full strength, the rankings had UF ranked above UNL.

Insofar as UF's roster is concerned, these are the players going out after 2023 and the new players coming in 2024:

    Going Out:

    AC Fitzpatrick 5'11" OH
    Sofia Victoria 6'1" OH
    Nnedi Okammor 6'4" MB
    Kennedy Muff 5'11" S
    Ellie McKissock 5'7" L/DS
    Anna Dixon 6'3" MB/OH

    Freshmen Coming In:

    Lauren Harden 6'3" OH
    Alec Rothe 6'3" OH/MB
    Jaela Auguste 6'2" MB
    Taylor Parks 5'11" S
    Ella Vogel 5'8" L/DS
    Bella Lee 5'5" DS/L

Alexis Stucky and Kira Hutson getting back to 100% health for the 2024 season will give UF another formidable team.

OH hitter will get taller at 6'3" x 2 while MB loses 6'3" and 6'4" but has 6'3" returning and 6'2" coming in. Jaela Auguste played for a US National Team that won a World Championship in August.

UF has another excellent recruiting class coming in and has made a good start on 2025 too. The future is bright.
