17 or 18 only puts you on the road with same pairing

would not 15 or 16 be paired with 17 and 18 with 31 and 32 paired with 1 and 2 or am i wrong?

Yes, thus my point is that there is NO advantage to being 17/18...those are the worst slots because you probably go on the road and then still get 1 or seed seed in the round of 16 if you survive.
19 or 20 seed has a tougher round of 32 vs 13/14, but then you get a slight break of 3/4 in the round of 16.
For me you just want the higher seed and stay home for early rounds. Best scenario is win out and maybe climb into a 13/14 slot

I don't know what it is about the Gamecocks, but they seem to bring out the worst in us. Our worst loss of the year to them and after 2 sets not playing very well today, even though tied 1-1. Only 1 ace so far, 6 service errors, hitting only .170 for the match and not handling their serve very well either. Need this win badly.

18 service errors for South Carolina through 3 sets and yet they still lead us 2-1. In the 3rd set, Florida was up 24-22, Kennedy Martin serving. She served long, then made 2 attack arrors followed by Rothe getting blocked and SC wins 26-24. Gators are only hitting .157 for the match, K Martin hitting .111, Rothe -.176. Taylor Parks is not setting very well and our defense has not been good. Got to come back, ladies!!

9 South Carolina service errors in set 4 and the Gators tie the match up 25-22. Gamecocks have 28 service errors and yet it's going to a 5th set due to very poor defense from Florida overall and some sloppy offensive play. Still can pull it out in the 5th set.

Florida hit a horrible -.087 in the 5th set, Kennedy Martin serves the winning point into the net and the Gamecocks win 15-13, 3-2. This was the worst match I've seen the Gators play since the last time they played South Carolina. You would think that when your opponent commits 30 service errors, you win fairly easily. NOT SO FAST!! We only had 4 aces to 13 service errors of our own, they hit .254 for the match to our .129 and had 56 assists to our 48. Except for serving, they were the better team. Their defense was much better and we just had too many bad passes and mishits. K. Martin only hit .163, Izzy Martin hit .109, Alec Rothe got dominated and hit only -.263, 4 kills and 9 attack errors. So, our 10 game winning streak is over and our chance to host in the NCAA tournament are gone. Plus we drop to 3rd in the SEC. Very disappointing.

We had so many easy chances that we uncharacteristically misplayed. And almost every scramble play seemed to go USCe's way. Very frustrating game to watch. I bet it was even more frustrating to play and coach.

Roger that. It was frustrating and felt like an eventual loss even when we were ahead.
