Maybe she had to have some bone spurs removed and is only out a few weeks. If serious, she'll miss the season which means a recent injury. Scrappy, when will you be able to go to a volleyball meeting and find out about the 2 big injuries from the 2023 season?
Florida Volleyball lands Second in SEC Preseason Coaches’ Poll; Gators Duo Tab Preseason All-SEC - Florida Gators
Texas will find the SEC far more challenging than the Big 12. If the Gators come in healthy, UF will have an excellent shot to win the SEC and be the best team in the nation. It'll be interesting to see the national polls: 2024 SEC Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll Place School Points 1. Texas (14) 196 2. Florida (1) 174 3. Kentucky 173 4. Georgia 148 5. Tennessee 144 6. Missouri 127 7. Texas A&M 117 8. Arkansas 109 9. LSU 82 10. Auburn 77 11. Oklahoma 73 12. Ole Miss 49 South Carolina 49 14. Mississippi State 42 15. Alabama 15 (First-Place Votes in Parentheses)
In other exciting news, I saw CK walking on the sidewalk close to the Lemerand. No, I did not stop, or shout or blow my horn. She was in a deep phone conversation with someone, and for a change I decided not to be rude.
Really? CK the next coach at FL? From volunteer to paid assistant and then the head coach of a top 10 program. Pretty big jump. I'm not exactly sure if she has even been head coach of a club team. She was assistant for ocala power years back but boy that would be a huge leap.
Look, I’m not an expert on volleyball, I’ll leave that to Scrappy and some of the other members. I believe CK came to UF after three seasons as head coach of College of Charleston. But I didn’t base my comment on that, I base it on the player that she was when she led UF to the Championship Game. I listened to some interviews with her during her college career and talk about an impressive young woman! The leadership qualities, intelligence, charisma. Her ability to discuss the responsibilities of every player on the court like a seasoned head coach as a college student. No, I’m not her father, but hell yes I was impressed. And did you know she played the final month of her career at UF with a broken hand? Coach Wise will probably coach a few more years giving all of our assistants time to grow. I know nothing of Coach Dave Boos and he may be the best person for the job but time will tell.
On the 10/5-10/6 weekend, my daughter and I are planning to go to the UF-UCF football game Saturday night and the UF-UT VB game on Sunday. Any insight on when the game times will be announced for the VB game? Hoping it isn't in the afternoon or evening, or else I'll have to spend money on an extra night in a hotel.
One month until Fan Day: Gators Volleyball on X: "About that time Cannot wait to have you all back in the O’Dome!! #GoGators https://t.co/71HF6CmQya" / X (twitter.com) Somebody get an update on our current and previously injured Gators headed into the season which is also a month away. Thanks.
I place this here because he is the VB Strength and Conditioning Coach. This man is an icon. His Passion for the Work is Olympian - Florida Gators
What a great freshman class, the best in the nation: Gators Volleyball on X: "Freshmen looking good in Orange and Blue #GoGators https://t.co/NEUxG4BotA" / X (twitter.com) These freshmen could start as a unit at a lot of other programs.
Yeah I'm really excited about the upcoming volleyball season. Texas adds tremendous quality to the SEC and with Kentucky being consistently good and other teams upping their game, the competition will be the most fierce ever, IMO. But this team could be up for the challenge.
