Ongoing UF Softball Commentary

I love Michelle Smith! Wasn’t she also behind getting the USA professional league started?

 

She’s awesome. From a commentary standpoint I could use a lot more of her and Jessica Mendoza and less of Beth Mowins. I’m sorry but Beth rubs me the wrong way lol.

 

Lauren Haeger is also a Babe Ruth of sorts

 

All horrible on ears IMO(expect Kayla Braud..lol).. but if Mendoza doing softball will keep her off baseball Im all for it. Softball player as baseball analyts is equivalent to ping pong player as tennis analyst IMO.

 

Personally I hate having Mendoza call in the post season. She has to relate everything to baseball and doesn’t shut up.

 

And awful on baseball IMO..lol Comes across as know it all on both. Which is fine if you do, but she dont. especially baseball.

I think my biggest pet peve w/ softball announcers is calling the bases 1, 2 3... "out at 1" instead of "out at first"

I know its player lingo, "cut 1" etc.. just sounds silly to me in a broadcast. Former baseball players dont do it when calling baseball.. Not sure why the former softballers do

I was just stating my feelings from a softball standpoint not baseball.

 

As much distaste as I have for bama Kayla was a great player and imo she’s pretty good at commentary.

 

Not only does Beth Mowins grate she can’t find it in herself to not insult UF softball.

 

The closest thing Beth Mowins has said that could be considered a compliment to UF softball in my 12 years was passive aggressive at best. I simply don’t like her.

 

Max Preps has Rothrock #1, Williams #2, Brown #4. If that signing class of 6 doesn't bring home a national championship or two nothing will.

 

They’ll need a year of experience. But if they bring home a natty year one I won’t complain.

 

So was I , just saying if Mendoza belongs anywhere, its softball not baseball. but espn ..box checkers
