I’m guessing 90 pitches on Saturday. Not ready for Friday starter yet. The simple fact she’s back and was brilliant is amazing. In the long run I think we’ll all be happy about how her wellbeing was taken care of and protected. I’m not sure every program out there would have handled her the same way. Props as always to CTW and the integrity of the Gator way. Her health is more important than a win.
It's probably more crucial for FSU re getting a top 8 seed, of course hurting them and helping us at the same time is a bonus
Thst tournaments been pretty impactful for sure the last 5 years if not more. I don't know that it has ever been irrelevant. But regardless whatever is best for keagen and this teams post season is what i hope for Wednesday night. Honestly i think Arkansas is a much bigger deal.
By irrelevant I meant in terms of the Gators back when I first started watching. Back then the top 8 seed was locked up long before the tournament so why waste arms when a natty is the real prize. The tournament was definitely relevant for the gators last season and locked down a top 8 for us. Times change.
Porsche I’d prefer bacon over off topic in the future. How talking about softball in a softball forum is off topic will forever elude me. If you want off topic I just finished watching daredevil born again on Disney plus. I enjoyed the show and am willing to talk all about it here, in a softball forum is
So true. As a new fan, I remember making the trip to Tennessee in 2017 and being surprised to learn afterwards that the game meant little unless you were on the bubble for seeding. That was an expensive education for me. UF was out in one game and it didn't mean more -- it meant nothing!
Lol. It used to be nothing more than live batting practice for the Gators and bama. Bp is great but you’re not gonna waste arms when you know how grueling the real tournament is and the trophy you ultimately want to hoist. Times change. The SEC has long been the toughest conference and in theory winning that tournament should be harder than winning the natty this season. That said are all these teams with natty expectations going to blow their load in the SEC tournament? I doubt it unless it’s a top 8 seed bubble situation. I don’t think that will be the case for our Gators, OU, Texas, lsu, maybe tamu.
Was always relevant to one of the other SEC teams just not often relevant to us and bama. If it was bama or the Gators would have won every time.
My graduate degree is from FSU, and I’m so petty in my dislike for that school that it took me two years to hang my diploma up in my office at work. They have an excellent social work program, so I bit the bullet and put my pride aside… but only for the purposes of education. Lol. I’m guessing we will see a few arms on Wednesday. I desperately want to beat them, but not at the risk of pushing Rothrock beyond what’s good for her at this point.
I find it so funny that before the missouri loss OU fans were deadset they were winning another natty and should be 1 and now that the team hasnt looked good the last week every excuse in the world is made about oh we are young and Tennessee shouldn't celebrate like they did because it's not the same team and it's not as big of a deal...we were never going to win it all again this year anyway. Literally their radio guy is criticizing tennesee for celebrating outs.... like did you not witness the way the idiots the last four years celebrated a walk. But its bad for tennessee to celebrate? Come on It's comical lol. Lowering expectations so it doesn't seem like the current team is just not playing good. When thst is 100% the truth right now. They have all the talent to win, they jsut don't look good right now. Their offense isn't being consistent and the circle is what it is. But they still should have been able to score enough this weekend to win.
I think the winner of the FSU game on Wednesday becomes secondary to the battle Lonnie Alameda is going through with breast cancer....and I'm OK with that. I think she is a classy lady and pray for her full recovery.
UF needs to move the Saturday Arkansas game back so as to not conflict with the NCAA semifinal between UF and AU. Softball is televised so they may not be able to do it.
Id rather have a televised softball game lol than moving the time. The one time I'm unfortunately not going to probably be able to watch we are on TV.
Probably the case so I'll watch the basketball games and forego softball to DVR. The problem is Duke vs. Houston comes on 30 minutes after AU vs. UF. It's going to be hard not to peek at the softball score which will ruin the plan. I've found that if we lose, I won't watch and if we win, I'll only watch the Gator highlights.
