This is still my all time favorite play. Today when I watch the YouTube video showing the entire sequence of pitches and its final outcome, tears still come to my eyes and a shrill goes through my body as I eye the Alabama left fielder falling over the fence giving chase.
Well she's day to day and about 90% for 20 something days now....if we lose to auburn without her throwing a pitch it's safe to say it's a serious injury and he's willing to let a freshman take the hits and lose games. Not sure why Red gets 2 starts a weekend instead of Brown? Thought Brown was like rated really really high and everything. With a year of experience i would think she takes a bunch of the work and have the freshman get experience more slowly. Thinking brown isn't the pitcher I thought she was.
Sophia Nugent leaves Oklahoma for Tennessee....goes back to Norman.....hits the game winning bomb to beat Oklahoma. Not to mention they also lost Jocey at the same time.
We showed Auburn all of healthy arms tonight except Liv. Sooner or later CTW has to say something about Keagan.
Nice Rick! That moment never gets old! I remember watching it live (on TV). It brings a smile and a tear. How Ali must have felt!
I think OU and Texas will find it a little harder to sweep an SEC weekend than their last year's conference.
While I wouldn't exactly say we are struggling right now, missing Keagan is definitely having an effect on our ability to dominate opponents. The mound presence she showed as a freshman late last season was phenomenal. Watching this team, I feel that they are definitely a group of great players. And I know the goat CTW will get them to improve as individuals over the next few weeks of the SEC grind. One thing that keeps coming back to me is how truly special having a legit SUPERSTAR like Skylar Wallace was for the Gators the last couple of seasons. Sometimes to truly appreciate the greatness of players like Skylar (or Keagan) you have to (unfortunately) play on without them. Go Gators!!!
Finally found a clear shot of Keagan from last night. She was not wearing game shoes. Certainly looks like she's not pitching, again.
And let's not forget Townsen Thomas. An extremely highly thought of recruit. Not one word about her since fall ball. Obviously, she is going to redshirt since we are halfway through the season and she has not seen the field. Is she injured? Is it a strategic move to save a year of eligibility since at best she would be a spot playing outfielder? Who knows. No word on Hovermale either who doesn't dress. This is simply the way this program has operated for years. Dead silence and a total lack of respect for its fans and supporters simply leads to guesswork and rumors. It shouldn't be this way. It doesn't have to be this way. But that's the way Walton wants it.
Just for comparison purposes, as of this morning here is where the Gators ranked in the SEC: Fielding % - 11th at .968 Batting Average - 3rd at .361 Team ERA - 4th at 2.18 Home Runs - tied with Oklahoma for 1st with 64 Fewest K's by Hitters - 2nd with 91 Walks - 3rd with 157 Stolen Bases - 2nd with 75 Strikeouts by Pitchers - 13th with 160 Fewest HR's allowed - tied for 5th with 13 Walks Allowed - 10th Most with 89 Hit Batters - The Most with 29
I think most who follow closely are pretty pleased with Brown's role as a closer rather than a starter. Now, if we could just get Rothrock back to complete the picture......
All games for all teams. When you look at what I posted that's kind of a silly question. We've played 7 SEC games. 64 home runs, 75 stolen bases, etc., etc.
