So here's a way too early question that I still want to ask. Does Florida have the pitching coach we need? With Bosch, I could see things declining with each pitcher season to season. For example, Delbry in my opinion was pretty solid year one and was looking forward to year two....until it happened and she looked like a different pitcher mechanically to me. I thought the same from Riley as well. Each year she looked like she lost something from the previous year. I simply can't see the improvements or decline in play that much during a season. I will say that I can appreciate the improvements from Keagan this year which were pretty visible during the season but not much change in the others. So my eyes only really compare one year to the next, I don't really have enough knowledge to appreciate the in season adjustments that may be going on. I also have no player insight and what those relationships are and the level of respect from player to coach. So, any thoughts on the suble things I don't notice that leads you to think we have the right pitching coach to build on? It looks to me like we do but I am really basing that on one pitchers growth and quite frankly that could be as much Keagan getting stronger and healthy as any coaching input.

According to the OU radio broadcast, the NCAA has reinstituted the run rule for the championship series. I have no idea if they said so on tv as all of the money in China could never get me to listen to Mowins and her crew.

Wishful thinking on OUs part. They are praying he’s retiring but he’s not. Their bs dynasty came ever so close to ending and they know it. Next season the Gators will finish the job!

The one and only thing this seasons team lacked was pitching depth. Next season that won’t be an issue. That said Keagan was an absolute WARRIOR. Imagine how much stronger she’ll be next season and add a supporting cast to help her out. Unstoppable is the word that comes to my mind. No wonder OU is spreading lies. I can smell their fear, I look forward to tasting their tears.

I’m just going to say it. Our Lady Gators are winning the national championship next season. It’s time for our dynasty to begin.

They mentioned it one time after OU scored in the top of the 6th when the score was 7-1.

Two games left. Last time I was rooting so hard for Texas was 2006 rose bowl. Vince Young and the shorthorns against another evil empire.

Katie Kistler, hands down, is a reliable, elite outfielder, as well as a class act. She was a joy to watch play the GAME as a Florida Gator.

She hits too, without her bomb against oks we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to send bama home and give that classless ou squad all they could handle.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think a huge part of the pitching coach job is strategizing how to pitch the opponents, sending in signals to our pitcher during the game, and scouting opponents pitchers for tendencies? I think that went pretty well this year.

The pitching coach normally signals the next pitch in to the catcher who then relays that to the pitcher. This is why runners on second may be able to 'steal' the signal as they have a great view of it.
But yeah! Setting the hitters up with your pitch sequence is key to effective pitching, but just as much is the pitcher's ability to disguise the pitch as she delivers it. Batters are waiting on "their" pitch, (the one that they think they can launch) and the pitcher will try to fool them by sending them something else.
A pitching coach has a lot more responsibility than that, they help pitchers learn new pitches and perfect the ones they know already. Jennifer Rocha was a gem and when we lost her to OU, the result has been quite clear. We've become a less dominant pitching team while they have gone in the other direction.
But don't forget that both Walton and Rocha are OU alums and Walton brought her to the Gators because of his relationship with her (coaching together at OU and Wichita). So the Sooners managed to get one of them back.

They use pitchcoms now. Keagan and Jocey got their signals on a watch. No more stealing signals at second.
