Just to revisit Kendra’s immaculate reception one more time. Perhaps the most amazing thing about that play was the astounding arrogance of Boone. She’s standing on first waving her hands in the air asking the crowd to celebrate her greatness. Her own dugout had to notify her that Kendra caught it, you are out, get off the field. Go find a bat to slam into the ground.

This fantastic season is over. Makes me sad. Following these ladies is so much fun. I look forward to opening day which unfortunately is approximately 240 days away.

I posted this almost three months ago, when no one would mention us in the same conversation as Oklahoma. So while we didn't quite dethrone them, I think it's clear we are on their level. Today was tough, but holy cow the future for Gator softball is bright!

 

What a great run the Gators had this season. Keagan was outstanding during the postseason. However, next year, she might be a little bit more effective if the pitching staff can take more of a supportive load. I’m sure that Chelsey has a plan. Next year we’ll have Ava, Liv and Katelynn(Red) on staff. Hopefully CTW can get an experienced arm as a fifth pitcher. Chelsey has been working to develop Liv. Liv has one of the best change ups on the team. In the Carolina series, she threw some her change ups around 45 mph. Then her riser came in around 68 mph. Hopefully this development will be ready by next year. Ava just needs to work on hitting her spots better. We don’t yet know what Red has to bring, but once Chelsey can assess Red, she can make a plan to develop her for the SEC. Let’s hope that CTW can find a gem in the portal. I think we can take the next step with a good five pitcher pitching staff.

 

Congrats on a great season. Have high anticipation and hopes for 2025.

I miss these young ladies already

 

OU radio show saying one of the rumors from WCWS is that Walton is retiring.... I find that ti be a load of crap. After this freshmen class is gone? Sure. No way he leaves after this. You could tell they brought the joy for the game back to him this year.

 

I think I have a better chance of getting hit by lightning than TW leaving the program within the next four years. If he did leave, I'll bet UF offers the job to Kenny Gajewski. They are two peas in a pod.

 

CTW’s job is not done yet. He has a top 3 class coming in next year and is working on the classes after that one. He also has a 4 to 5 year program in the works to bring Francesca Enea along as head coach material. Why would he bring Francesca come in for just one year. The rumor is poppy cock.

 

Probably what ou is hoping cause we came close to beating them and know we will be a difficult team to beat in the future, especially since they also will be playing other SEC teams regularly next season.

 

Probably for sure right about that.

 

I trust this team to continue to develop for next year with all the starters except 2 coming back. If that run doesn't make you hungry for more I don't know what will. They already had that drive this year.... can't wait to see the fire under them and the hard work they put in over the offseason this year.
