UCLA problem is just a shortage of games. They are pretty much living on that Stanford series. But you are right they will win today and that likely is enough. One thing I don't want is to have UF at 8 and Stanford at 9 for supers because I am always worried about facing a shutdown pitcher in a 3 game series.....only saving grace would be the heat might impact the Cardinal more than the southern based opponents we likely face
I say let's beat the stuffing out of Mizzou thereby putting Stanford in the top 8, not buying LSU. That way we don't see Stanford until the WCWS.
Too much feeling out with the piggies for me. I'd rather play a team we've already faced. EDIT: After thinking about it, FSU is the team I'd most like not to see coming to Gainesville with a trip to the WCWS on the line. They pounded us the last time we played them at home and the game in Tallahassee was touch and go. The nolies made it to the WCWS final last season and are capable of doing it again. They are a really good team. It would be a shame for the selection committee to decide only one team from Florida gets a chance to go to the WCWS by bracketing UF and FSU up after we split with them 1-1 during the season.
With this win, there is a possibility of a six seed. Remember in 2019, the Gators were a No.4 seed after beating Alabama for the Tournament Championship and we were outside the top eight seeds going into the tournament if I recall.
This would be my field, minus the 4 seed auto bids, which will knockout some f these 3 seeds Im sure. 1. Texas - (2. Michigan - 3.Miami(Oh) ) 16. Georgia - (2.Virg Tech - 3.Nebraska) 2. Oklahoma - (2. Virginia - 3. Ole Miss) 15. Arizona - (2.Bama - 3 GCU) 3. Tennessee - (2.N'western - 3.Liberty) 14. Tex A&M - (2.Tex St - 3. Cal) 4. Florida - (2. Charlotte - 3.UCF) 13. Arkansas - (2.Wash. - 3.Indiana) 5. Okla St. - (2.Oregon - 3.McNeese) 12. FSU - (2. Auburn - 3.FAU) 6. Duke - (2. S. carol. - 3.S. Alabama) 11. Louisiana - (2.Miss St - 3.SELA) 7. UCLA - (2.Baylor - 3.SD ST) 10. Mizzu - (2.Clemson - 3.S. Illinois) 8. Stanford - (2.Kentucky - 3.Tex Tech) 9. LSU - (2.Boston - 3. Utah)
If you win your sec series, you’re gonna be in good shape at tourney time. The early schedule put us a bit behind the 8 ball trying to get a top 8 seed, but the girls did what they needed to do, and I believe they got it done. I think it was good for this team, and helped the youngsters build their confidence.
Just got through watching it. My wife & I spent the day with our Daughter and her 2 kids, 9 & 8. Very impressed with Keagan's improved pitching. She is much more efficient, throwing a lot more strikes than balls and getting ahead of the count. I do think she was getting tired those last 2 innings with some free passes, but the defense was great. Falby made an awesome catch. Skylar is back to being dominant. She just has a more confident look now than she did a month ago. Love this team. I am concerned about Ava Brown. She didn't pitch at all in the tourney and is in a pretty bad hitting slump. Popping everything up and swing at balls out of the zone. He's subbing her out and pinch hitting for her midway through games. I was super happy for Mia Williams. 3-run HR's in back to back games! Looks like we're going to be a Top 8 seed for sure and my guess now is #6. Will be very interested to see how the committee seeds 1-16, who we're paired with for Supers and who is coming to Gainesville next weekend.
Warren Nolan LIve has the Gators at #6 RPI, #3 ELO and SOS up to #13. He has LSU #5 RPI, #1 SOS, #12 ELO.
been watching ou vs. tx. ok city = home games for ou. the wcws can't be moved so somehow ou ticket access has to be maxed. ou is leading 5-1 and all you can see is a sea of red.
