Ongoing UF Softball Commentary

All our Gators girls have to do is keep winning. I don’t know about y’all, but I believe. By the way, my brother and I will be at all the games in the Carolina series this weekend. We hope we can meet as many as we can from this group. We are in section 102, row five, seats 13 and 14. Go Gators!

I hope OU softball follows suit to their Gymnastics team maybe in super regionals.

 

Just a heads up for all the doubters. Last year’s team was 38-22. We are 35-9 with 11 gauranteed games to go without playoffs. Unless we shit the bed over those games. We are going to have a better season than last year lol.

I am no pitching expert. At the “First Pitch” event, Coach Chelsey said that she and Mackenzie were working on Mackenzie’s change up. I think they have developed something. Mac threw her change up at between 46-48 mph. Then she would throw a 66 mph fastball. Mac is no ace, but Tim can throw her in the rotation as “another look” pitcher in relief. Good job tonight, Mac!

 

She and Liv both did a great job tonight. I cannot fathom why they haven't been utilized more.

On another note, we fans need to curb our criticism of players when we are at games. Tonight, "fans" were sitting behind some pitchers' moms, degrading the pitchers. One of the moms turned around and told them that they were the parents of the players and that they could quit. To their dubious credit, they did. But we all should remember the players are doing all they can, and if it were our child, it would hurt to hear unnecessary comments.

 

Concerning the pitchers, like to see those folks chirping about them grab the ball and suit up. Let's tear down kids playing at the highest level. Good job way to think it through........

This team would be scary if we had landed Vawter. We’re still pretty darn good, just sayin…

 

Vawter is good, but we helped her by swinging at 1st pitches that were not strikes.
I think she will pitch again tomorrow, so I hope we adjust.
It's disappointing to see a lack of in-game adjustment by our batters' coach. We could have done better.
Also, whoever was calling pitches kept calling for the changeup, and there were 3 homers and other hits off it. Why?

They said that was the Cock’s first win in Gainesville since 2013. If so, 75k well spent by USCe.

 

They are doing fine. Nice record fighting in the hardest conference in the nation. Stay positive ladies grab game 3.

Tennessee is doing everything they can to let us catch up and we’re just not taking advantage. Oh well, only a SEC regular season title. NCAA tournament is what it’s all about anyway. Hopefully these young ladies get the mojo back and catch fire at just the right time! Fantastic season that has exceeded all reasonable expectations so far. Get back on track trending in the right direction I doubt there’s a single team in the country that would like to play our ladies. Go Gators!
