Gators next opponent North Florida is not half bad. They lost to a usually good James Madison by one run and beat Southern Miss who have beaten the Gators in the past. The T-Mobile tournament next weekend is a horse of a completely different color. They play three lower echelon Div 1 teams with a combined record of 6 & 17. Talk about leading hogs to the slaughter. Scrappy and Ocala could field a team of old Diamond posters and win with ease.

You don't get on base on a sac fly either. But that counts for on base percentage.

 

Lexie got the start for Louisiana against Baylor. Lasted one inning. Gave up three hits, a walk, and a wild pitch but got out of it with only one run as one out on a sac bunt, one out on an out at home from left field and a line drive to shortstop. She did not come out for the second inning.

 

I am not sure that is true - does not make sense in terms of what the stat measures. Where are you getting that SF counts in OBP? If it does I will join you in pondering the absurdity.

 

From baseball reference. There are many sites that explain the same thing on how you determine obp. I initially thought it absurd until it dawned on me and Phil that on a sac bunt you are intentionally giving yourself up but on a sac fly you are not. I googled that explanation also. Their reasoning makes sense in distinguishing a SF from a Sac Bunt.
