Ocalaman, you are correct as usual. FYI The last time Gators lost a road series other than CWS was March 2019 against LSU. They also have a couple of good non SEC victories away from home this year beating Michigan as well as UCF. I wouldn't be all that surprised if they win on the road Wednesday at FSU. All that being said I would still rather they host all regional games.

It is quite complicated but we could get a 4 seed for the SEC tourney. If LSU wins all 3 against Ms St they move ahead of us. If Aubbie wins 2 with Ala they move ahead of us. If MO beats TN twice they move ahead of uf and we potentially can drop th the 7 seed. If the reverse of all the above happen, we are the 4 seed and get a bye until Thursday.

I met her parents at a bar in New Smyrna on Saturday. Between cheering the team they would lament not seeing the game in person.

UF softball is now #9 in the RPI rankings, #4 SOS. We are 12-10 vs. Top 25 teams, 8-2 vs. 26-50. We've played more games against Top 25 opponents than any team in the Top 25. Arkansas, Clemson & Tennessee are next with 20 games. "Powerful" Oklahoma has a grand total of 6 games vs. Top 25 teams and only 6 more against teams ranked 26-50. While it's been disappointing that the Gators aren't challenging for the SEC title, they are still a potentially dangerous team in the post season, IMO, especially with Trlicek looking better in the circle and Decker helping out in the batting order. If we get Adams back and Echols can catch fire, they could make a run to the WCWS. D1Softball's RPI Nitty Gritty

Okl St is 8th in RPI and we could easily move in front of them since they have lost two in in a row and their next three games are against Oklahoma. Gators could get an 8th seed. That is the good news. If they got to CWS they would probably get Oklahoma in the first round. If Gators got a 9th seed and won the regional, there is a good chance they would go to Oklahoma St and play against Julia Cottrill which would make for an interesting series.

Mentioned a couple of weeks ago their insane schedule to end the season.....3 vs Texas (swept 3-2 in 9, 3-0, 2-1), on the road for a pair at FSU (lost 2-1 in 9, lost 2-1), at Okla for 3, then the tourney. Crazy tough finish. We could easily be paired for supers

Looks like Cottrill has had a nice season, hitting 300 with 10 dingers

AU @ Vols last week of season,, AU doesnt play Bama this year. AU would need a sweep to pass UF(lost series to UF) which would put Vols at 12-10(not counting tonights game) & AU at 14-10. No way to finish above both I dont think.

Mizzu is @ Bama.. Mizzu(11-9) so Mizz needs 2 to stay above UF. They(SEC) currently list Mizz 3rd , UF 4th in standings bc of Win %.

AU, UGA, UK, LSU could all sweep and all jump UF,,but unlikely lol But UF could finish 8th..or 7th I guess bc Vols would fall behind UF

If all 4 of those win 2/3 then a 5 way tie at 13-11, again unlikely. 7 teams can finish 3rd-8th as of now.

Thanks for the scenario breakdown. This is one of those years where there's not really a dominant team in the SEC and a lot of parity. I see 8 teams with a legit chance of making the WCWS, some better than others of course. Arky, Bama, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Auburn & LSU (Beth Torina has a knack for getting her team playing well in the post season). Arkansas has clearly had the best conference season, but I won't be surprised if they don't make it to Oklahoma City. South Carolina is probably the only team that is not going to make a Regional. Not only do they currently have a losing record, but their RPI is #48. Texas A&M is kind of borderline, but they should get in unless they just tank at the end. They have a Wednesday doubleheader against Houston and then finish their season hosting Arkansas. Their RPI is #37, SOS #14 and SOS will definitely improve after this week, but if they go 0-5 it could hurt their chances. The Regional and Super Regional pairings will be fascinating and I truly hope the Gators don't get matched against another SEC team for a change, assuming they get that far.

Im sure I got something wrong, or missed a scenario..lol Im 100% AU @ Vols i do know that ..lol

I think Ark was pretty dominant. Maybe b/c I picked them pre season ;) But especially w/ emergence of Delce in circle. I was counting on Haff being same as last year and hasnt been, but Delce has been almost unhittable since her coming out party vs AU(of course) and one of few offenses that can swing w/ OU IMO.

On Super pairings .. I dont think we'll have as many SEC host as usual.might be wrong, but Im seeing only 5-6, with only 2-3 top 8s. more ACC now w/ Clem , VPI being good.

Ive posted this in past, but SEC vs non SEC in Supers or CWS finals hasnt gone very well historically. I forgot exact number, but something like 9-16 I think for SEC in those match ups. I think they put SEC v SEC iin Supers on purpose a lot to assure SECs in Omaha..JMO ;)

I think only SEC not to get in last couple seasons are ones under .500 overall. I still dont get that ,,both based on post season results I mentioned above,, and more so compared to baseball.. SEC baseball far superior to SEC softball in post season, so why isnt a well under .500 SEC record w/ a top 40 RPI getting in like softball.? AU had zero business in post season last year, even though same SEC record as UGa... and proved so by going 0-2 as a 2 seed in Tally.

I believe for tie breakers they look at head to head and if that doesn't break
For the Gators to get a four seed South Carolina needs to win a game against Kentucky. I don't think that is going to happen. SC has lost 17 SEC games in a row.

I must me missing something then if thats all UF needs to be top 4. 4 teams currently all 11-10(UK, LSU UGa, AU) none playing each other,, so couldnt all finish ahead of UF theoretically? or tied, or a combo of both?

I think Vols could of clinched top 4 w/ win tonight, but just lost , so they are back in mix too of the 3rd-8th group. Also have 1 less game played, as does Mizzu

If Tenn wins 1 and Mo 2 against Al we can't catch them because they play one less game. If we tie anyone else we win the tie breaker. If any of the following sweep were done. KY, AU, LSU or GA. AU, LSU & GA will probably loose a game but I think KY will easily sweep.

Ok gotccha, we were saying essentially same thing.lol One thing I dont remember & to lazy to look is how multi team tie breakers work.. Isnt it record vs 1 seed or something like that?? or is that baseball..not good for UF & AU if so

    I looked..

    2. Three-Team Tie (or more). If three or more tied teams have three different records against each other, they shall be seeded in best percentage order. Otherwise, once the tie has been reduced to two teams, the two-team tie breaker procedure shall be utilized. The following procedure will be used in the following order until the tie is broken:
    A. Total won-loss percentage of games played among the tied teams.
    B. Won-loss percentage of the tied teams versus the highest seed common opponent.
    C. Fewest runs allowed in head to head competition. If head to head competition between the tied teams did not occur, then fewest runs allowed against all common opponents.
    D. Fewest runs allowed versus all opponents. E. If three or more teams are still tied, the Commissioner will conduct a draw.

And Tim Walton just got his 1000th win as a head coach, the 2nd fastest to ever get there. Only Arizona's former coach Mike Candrea got to 1000 quicker. He won 8 national titles at Arizona and had 1674 wins when he retired after 41 years of coaching, 36 of them at Arizona. Walton is only in his 20th year of coaching, his 17th at UF. He'll be 50 in a few months and hopefully will be in Gainesville for the duration, as he's already established himself as one of college softball's GOAT's, IMO, along with Candrea, Patty Gasso, Patrick Murphy and Carol Hutchins (most wins with 1703 in 38 years and still going).

Myers had 8 WCWS appearances in 12 years, not to bad. Yes Im aware of espnW hit piece and not getting into on here. PM me , Ill be happy to discuss/correct(if need be).

8 out of 12 is strong regardless. Also averaged 52 wins a year. highest career avg. that I know of. 633 total, 80%. Just a late start to career, bc of baseball up till 2005.

AU finished 20th, 2nd, 3rd, 13th in final poll during his 4 years. AUs next highest ranking ever otherwise is 21st in 05

What really encouraged me was Delbrey's performance on Saturday. If she keeps that up, plus what you mentioned above, we could indeed be dangerous.
