Walton is shaking it up for the next game. Moving Korbe to second and Skylar to third in the order. Jocey goes to first and Emily catches. Reagan to third and Ariel to DP. Pitching Ava which surprises me. I thought we would save her for USF tomorrow. We have to develop more than two pitchers.

Been doing other stuff and just caught up on statsbroadcast. Bats came alive this game and the pitching is just rolling along. Good to see Olivia Miller get in the circle.

Our game with Michigan pushed everything way back for tonight. Oregon State beat USF 7-1 between our games. We were finishing up watching Season 2 of Bosch: Legacy on Amazon Prime. Good series.

Gators win 12-1. Great pitching from Ava Brown once again. Noon Sunday vs. Bethune-Cookman, then USF right after that game.

The bats came alive tonight, the Gators had 13 hits. There were three solo home runs, one each by Ariel, Reagan and Korbe, There were four doubles, Kendra two, Ava one and Skylar one. Kendra cleared the bases with one of hers. Kendra had 3 hits. Ava got the win and looked stellar tonight. Ava is an athlete, she can pitch, field and hit. Olivia looked sharp as well. Great Game ladies! Go Gators!

It is wonderful to have Gator Softball to enjoy again!
This is opening weekend and will not define the season.

For sure, it is just the start of a great season of softball. That said it’s funny that the worry was pitching entering the season (experience and health) and now it seems our ongoing nemesis of hitting, especially with runners in scoring position, is the focus. We have got to figure out how to make solid contact with runners in scoring position. Feeble pop ups, that strand our runners and hand the leverage back to our opponents has got to end. I can only imagine how well we would be doing if we could produce sac flys when needed. Super excited to see how well AK is doing!

Keagan gets the start against Bethune. Surprises me. I thought it would be Olivia to get her innings against what is usually a very weak team.

They have now changed the official stats and it is Olivia. Ariel catching. Jocey at first. Cassidy in right.

She threw 132 yesterday. I bet it will be Ava with Keagan available for a couple innings if needed.

Very nice first inning for Olivia. If she can give us reasonably competent innings consistently, it really improves the staff by taking pressure off Ava and Keagan.

Tim pulled Skylar last inning and moved Mia to short. She did not hit this inning. I understand trying to get players in but pulling Skylar seems a strange way. I believe she stole second and eventually scored her last ab but am wondering if she tweaked something. So, anyone there at the game, does she look fine now or what?

He's just giving all the players a chance to bat and get on the field. Warm day and wants to keep everybody fresh for USF, IMO. Miller pitching very well. BC started their ace, who was their conferance pitcher of the year in 2023 and the Gators tore her up. Bad defense helped as well.
