Ongoing UF Softball Commentary

Two on to start Wooten's inning. I missed it. One I think was a single. After that, a SAC bunt moving the runners. A SAC flyout scoring a run. A ground out to short. Gators up 5-1.

 

I'll be interested in your opinion of Wooten. I was thinking Bender but didn't want to say that for fear of being rude. I'm hoping she can be coached up good.

 

Bottom of 4. Lefty popped to left. Cassidy and Kendra walked. Korbe roped a drive to left that was caught. Skylar roped a drive to left that the left fielder made a great diving catch. Still 5-1.

 

Hard to tell...this is St. Leo. Looks better than Bender at this point.

 

I missed some of the top of five. Wooten put a couple on with walks. Got out of it with a ground out to Lefty at third and a ground out to short. Missed the rest. Still 5-1, I think.

 

Jocey goes past the trees in right to start the bottom of 5. What an outstanding get for us from Oklahoma.

 

I love Aubree...but Jocey has a bat Aubree could only dream of having.

 

Korbe ran track in HS… what are your impressions of her speed on bases and in LF?

 

I think going to bottom of 6...could be 7th (yes, we play on). Wooten got two strike outs and a fly out to center in the top of whatever inning. I'm getting lost typing here and other places.

Impossible to keep up and type. I've got notes and will fill in what happened once things calm down.

 

I am pissed. No tv timeouts. I want another cocktail but no time to get it.

 

OK. It is over. So...many posts and I'll do it inning by inning as it is too confusing. Hard enough watching a stationary stream but the PA announcer, whoever she is, was more lost than me making it doubly difficult. Numerous obvious mistakes. For instance, she announces Cassidy is up. Cassidy is a lefty. It was clearly Mia...a righty wearing #11. Anyway, they apparently played two. Either not announced or I missed it because it was top of 2 before it was clear. I think the first game was 6-1 (not sure). So, not sure top of 1 but I think bottom one of second game went this way: Kendra singled to left and stole second and third (I think she had at least six sb's tonight). Korbe walked. Skylar hit a two rbi triple to right. Jocey hit a ground out rbi to second. Emily hit the bomb over the left bullpen. Someone had an infield single and stole second. Someone flied out. Brooke walked. Ariel grounded out to first. Gators up 4-0.

 

Top of 2. Ava in to pitch. Pop up to third and two ground outs to second. Bottom of 2. Kendra with a sharp single to center...steals second and goes to third on a wild pitch. Korbe doubles on a hard shot off shortstop diving glove. She has great speed. No idea...a buffered glitch in the feed. Jocey doubles to left center for a rbi. Emily walks. Mia ropes one out with a nice leaping grab by second base. Alyssa pops out to short. Brooke pops out to short. Gators up 7-0.

 

Top of 3. Ava pitching. Single to right. SAC bunt for an out moving runner to second. Emily picks off the runner at second. Ground out to short with Lefty playing there. Bottom 3. Ariel hits a moon shot to center caught near the track...just missed it. Kendra with an infield single to short...steals second and goes to third on throwing error. Korbe with a SAC fly to center for an rbi. Lefty hits a rope to the right field fence that the right fielder catches on a great play. Gators up 8-0.
