Ongoing UF Softball Commentary

I doubt it's Lorenz. She gets married in December and her fiancé was just named a full time assistant at Clemson.

 

Yeah, I knew it wouldn't be her. Just pasting the list they gave. I want Enea. Although, all of them would be good picks.

 

Maybe Bruder who did do a one year stint as a volunteer or similar under Walton. Best RF we ever had imo. Hopefully it’s her and we clone her arm.

 

LOL. I lurk there from time to time. They really are a mess.

 

I saw mention over there that Mulipola started following Erickson and that being a possible connection. Think she would be an offensive asset coaching wise.

 

However, I did hear from a little birdie that it may indeed be Amanda as her husband will have a job somewhere in Hogtown-I’ve no idea what his skill set is but Amanda as hitting coach would make the most sense to my orbit….fwiw

 

Let's see. Georgina corrick did not start against Team USA but she's in the Great Britain line up. As of now ( 8:50am Ireland time) it's a weather delay with Team USA with a slim 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 3rd inning with 2 outs and bases loaded. It looks like it might be a lengthy delay. Maybe they'll get lucky and the weather will break long enough to get the remainder of the game in.

 

I know they are in a rain delay but I didn't know our game had started. Significantly different start time than all of the previous days. I'm gonna take a wild guess why Corrick not pitching in what is a championship game. If I understand how this works, the team that loses this game will then play the winner of the 3/4 game and that winner gets a guaranteed World Cup final along with the winner of the championship game. If so, they might be figuring they could lose to USA even with Corrick so why not save her for almost a guaranteed win in the next game.

 

I can't see Amanda and Griffin coming here unless Sully hires him. I don't know if the baseball team has a vacancy.
Don't get me wrong, I would welcome it. I think Amanda would speak her mind to CTW. Someone certainly needs to.
I will say I am encouraged by his portal use, and if Vawter and Maxwell come, I will be ecstatic!
Maybe and hopefully CTW has regained his focus and enthusiasm for the job.
This year could be truly exciting.

 

USA wins 7-0 in five and guarantees a spot in World Cup in Italy next year. Now....Tim.....get your butt home and finish the job.

I kept watching after the game was over while they were milling around and taking photos fully expecting to see Kelly Maxwell do the Chomp. She didn't.

 

He did and taking that position a week or two ago would have never made sense if Amanda already knew she was coming to UF. I think chances are zero the new assistant will be Amanda.

 

Lol I wouldn't expect her to. Imagine she was glad to be able to play softball and not worry about it for a week.

 

I was kidding but it would have been a hell of a scoop if it did happen.

Wow. Australia beat Corrick to take the second guaranteed spot in next year's World Cup. Britain was up 1-0 up to the fifth when Georgina gave up 4 runs, two earned, and while she went the full 7, Britain lost 4-1. Georgina threw 148 pitches...gave up 5 hits....3 walks....struck out 14.
