Correct. She is finishing up her junior year of high school and if she sticks to her commitment will enter school the summer/fall of 2024 and participate in the 2025 season. That 2024 class is building to be almost as good as the one coming in this year. We have current commits from 4 of the Top 20 players according to MaxPreps. #3 Infielder Gabby Comia from Cedar Lake, Indiana, #4 Layla Lamar from Cary, North Carolina (mother is the head coach at Duke and her younger sister is supposedly as good or better and may follow Layla to UF), #16 OF Townson Thomas, speedy OF from Bellaire, Texas, and #20 pitcher Katelynn "Red" Oxley from Bartow, FL, who I think is probably under rated at 20. Bartow just won the 6A state championship, she's been pitching for the varsity since her freshman season and has a compiled career record of 61-5, 0.42 ERA, with 907 K's in 428 innings, .129 BA against. Plus her career batting average is .435. And she still has her senior year to play.

Thanks!! I think I read somewhere Katelynn did not give up a run ( earned or unearned) her entire sophomore year. Well up until the state finals.

Jen Schroeder has a new uniform for the WCWS. I couldn't agree more.

I have a Gator softball glove signed by many former Gator softball All Americans including Stacey Nelson, Amanda Lorenz, Kelly Barnhill, Michelle Moultrie, Aubrey Munro, Kelsey Stewart, Ali Gardner, Charla Echols and other greats plus Coach & Mrs Walton, Smiley, Scott Stricklin and Katie Seashole Pressly, who by the way told me with a big smile that I’m the only person to ever ask for her autograph. Everyone has signed on the outside of the glove. This year’s selectee was Skylar who asked me where she should sign on the glove. I said anywhere she wanted. She glanced at the glove, flipped it over and signed on the inside pocket. Skylar is one of a kind for sure. Check out my avatar.

So deserving. Just goes to show how much we have declined. Even Falby didn’t make it or Charla? Hopefully the Gators can turn it around with the Dream Team recruits. I have a feeling the only coaching changes will be to add a third assistant

So Cagle gets POY. Deserving, I guess but.....padded stats playing the weak ACC (anything after the top four is extremely weak) and the softest pre-league schedule I have ever seen. Plus giving up 12 runs to OU in 7 innings.

The fact she was a two way player helped. She did have thee hits against Oklahoma in the first game of super regional. I'm biased of course but I think Skylar is a better player. Gives her something more to shoot for next season.

I am glad she is healed and the good news is she got to take 4 months off to let, I am sure, her overworked arm rest. Hopefully she skips club ball this summer.

With James Lamar's status, good chance she will skip travel this summer. Or, she could join all of the rest of our incoming kids and play for Hotshots-Nelson out of Texas. All of them, except Keagan and Alyssa Hovermale who is sticking with Athletics Mercado, got together and joined Ava Brown on the Hotshots for the summer before getting to campus.

Off subject topic, but can anyone tell me how Bama was # 5 National seed ? They were 4th in SEC about 1 game loss from being 6 or 7.

Not only were they overseeded, but look at the teams put in their regional. Pretty easy path to the Supers.
