That is what I assumed. If true, surely he has undergone his procedure and is now rehabbing. I understand HIPAA concerns but everything is so damn secret these days in college athletics. I've never understood what the problem is with giving concerned fans updates on players without getting into the details of their treatment.

Lots of money at stake, for one.

edit: not sure why this got an “off-topic”. Hunter and his family would be crazy to not want to control the narrative re: his injury. That’s their right, especially with a potential first round pick (yeah, I don’t see it either) on the line.

We subscribed to the Ocala Star-Banner (same as the Gainesville Sun except for local news page and local sports coverage), but it kept getting smaller and smaller with more & more ads, plus the editorial page sucked. We stopped paying for the rag about 6 years ago and haven't missed it a bit.

We would never wrap a mullet with the Independent Alligator. Too much ink.

UF baseball drops to 6-11 in the SEC , losing to Tennessee Saturday night 3-0. They good a solid pitching performance from Brandon Sproat, who went 6 innings, giving up the 3 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks. The runs scored on a solo HR in the 5th and a 2-run HR in the 6th. Philip Abner threw .2 innings, giving up a walk with 2 K's. Nic Ficarrotta pitched the final 2.1 innings, giving up only 1 hit. The Gator bats just couldn't do anything, with their only hits being back to back singles in the bottom of the 4th by Sterlin Thompson and Wyatt Langford. They had 2 walks on the night and 8 K's, so in 2 games against Vol pitching the gators have a total of 5 hits. Tennessee goes for the sweep Sunday at noon.

Just a very brutal schedule for this squad even though they do have series wins over #4 Arkansas and #5 Miami. Thankfully the schedule gets much lighter with South Carolina, Miss State, Missouri, and Kentucky. Hopefully, they can put together a spectacular run of games in the last 4 weeks of regular season ball.

Gotta win today, I think that’s an understatement. Should see Neely, Nesbitt, and Purnell. Hopefully today we will see guys finding ways to get on base.

We are near the bottom of the league in just about every category, which equates to our current record. How can a team with so many so called top recruits year after year be this bad? Either the players were very overrated or they are not being well coached.
I often wonder once Sully reached the pinnacle of getting a NC, and getting well compensated, his marriage broke up and from that moment on it just doesn't appear to me hi is as driven. Perhaps too much rat poison and distractions. And just like DM, if you bring buddies aboard vs top notch coaches, well you often get a team that's not very good whether they have good players or not.
Bottom line, our trajectory fellows is going south. There is no excuse for this.

Normally I would have to agree @number1 that our schedule does indeed get lighter—but with the way we’re playing I can’t see it that way. Everybody is a damn threat to our team….

Let's see-- a win today, and we are 7-11 a loss- 6-12. With a loss scrambling to a .500 finish is near impossible- I see perhaps 13-17. A win- gives you a shot at 15-15- still a very long shot without Barco but possible. Gators would have to play lights out in SEC tourney then- a longer shot. As the saying (attributed to Parcells) goes "you are what your records says you are"- no truer words in sports and in some other areas of life.

bottom dwelling in the SEC standing with the talent pool within Florida is just a ridiculously bad performance altogether for this program. Two out of three years now just fighting to make the tourney is not good enough period. I had thought 2020 would just be a bump in the road and I was clearly wrong on that.

I liked Billy Ray Cyrus' mullet. That Oklahoma State football coach had a pretty good one, too.

I normally give a game synopsis on this thread after a game, but just don't feel like it today. Brandon Neely was awesome on the mound and Jac Caglionone was great in his Gator debut as a starter, getting a solo HR and an RBI sac. fly. But after Blake Purnell got 3 outs in the 8th on 5 pitches, he just flat out blew it in the 9th and our head coach didn't see fit to take him out when it was obvious, to me at least, that he had lost his confidence and wasn't locating his pitches anymore. He gave up a leadoff HR, then got 2 K's and appeared to be ready to close out the game. A single, walk and single loaded the bases, then gave up a 2-run single to tie the game. The deflation on the team could be felt through the TV screen and you could tell the game was over. They had a chance to win it in the bottom of the 9th with a runner on 3rd and 1 out but Colby Halter struck out miserably and then Thompson flied out after Fabian was walked. We had 2 on in the 10th and, again, couldn't get the big hit and then Nesbitt gave up the 2-run HR in the 11th to give the Vols the win, as our 1,2, 3 hitters went down meekly to end the game. UF is now 23-17, 6-12 in the SEC and are off until hosting Kentucky Friday, Saturday & Sunday. I see a Gator roster full of highly-touted recruits and numerous players who are very good - but as a team are bad. Is it coaching, poor off season preparation, lack of commitment, lack of focus? I have no idea. But things aren't right in that program.
