Neely giving the Gators a good start so far today. 3 innings of shutout ball, a hit and a walk only. Just need to get the bats going along with the clutch hits. Had 2 walks in the 1st, 2 hits in the 2nd and nothing to show for it.

Nice series win, I don’t think any of us thought it overly likely after Thursday.
Hope they keep proving me wrong.

Florida baseball won their series vs. #2 Arkansas, beating them 9-7 in Saturday's rubber game. The Gators jumped to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the 3rd only to have Arkansas tie it up in the top of the 4th. They took a 7-4 lead in the bottom of the 5th, only to have Arky score 2 in the top of the 6th and then tie the game with a HR in the top of the 8th. But Florida scored 2 in the bottom of the 8th on a bunt single from Josh Rivera and a throwing error on the pitcher that put him on 2nd. Mac Guscette sacrificed him to 3rd and Derec Fabian drove him in with a sac. fly. Colby Halter then doubled and Jud Fabian knocked him in with a single. Earlier in the game, Wyatt Langford had a sac. fly RBI and a 3-run HR and BT Riopelle also had a 3-run HR. The Gators had 13 hits on the day with 5 Gators getting 2 each. Brandon Neely had a solid 3 innings getting the start, but was charged with 4 runs in the 4th, giving up 3 singles, a walk and a bases loaded double before being relieved by Ryan Slater with 2 outs. Slater, also, went 3.2 innings, being charged with 3 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits and 2 walks. Blake Purnell threw the final 1.1 innings to get the win and improve his record to 3-2, giving up no hits and no walks. Florida is now 21-11, 5-7 in the SEC. Next up are 4 road games - Tuesday night at 7 pm at FSU on the ACC Network and then and Friday, Saturday, Sunday series at Vanderbilt. The Friday & Sunday games are on ESPN2, the Saturday game on the SEC Network.
These last 2 wins for Florida were gutty and much-needed, showing the potential this team has. The pitching from Sproat and Neely as starters was encouraging and Blake Purnell's performance 2 days in a row was very impressive. Hopefully, the guys can build on these 2 games and pile up some more wins over this next 2 week stretch.

Not counting Tenn who has swept Ole Miss and Vandy, both on the road, does anyone have a better 1-2 series victories than UF with @Miami and Arky???

    Hmmm,
I’ll stick w my call of taking 2 of 3 from the number 2 team in the country.
Yeah, I think Barco’s fire/chirping lit that fuse. So, yep we go as Barc goes and it is possible even in losing ( you gotta know this) to send a message. Did you see his fire when he exited the field towards the home plate ump??
I know you are against coaches and players letting their feelings be known with regards to the strike zone but I’d completely disagree. Barco’s fire was important. If you watched every strike I’m sure you’d agree that Blue changed things for the bad again tonight.

Miami’s run has helped UF’s RPI. UF went up another 2 spots since Miami won tonight. Now #8.

Miami (up to #6 in RPI) at 12-2 in the ACC and I think they have won like 12 straight games.

Must have been a delayed fuse, we were outscored 7-1 after that.

Yep, lit it and I’m sure he continued after the game.
Bottom line is I said 2 out of 3. Doing that to the number 2 team in the country, a team that had not lost a series over a year is huge!!!

Next up is FSU, who has been really struggling. They close their series with Georgia Tech this afternoon, but are now 18-12, having lost 6 of their last 8 games. Need to kick 'em when they're down.

GT up 10-0 on FSU B7
    Ugly series for FSU
They've lost 3 straight Sunday games, none have been close. They're spiraling out of control.

Most all former fsu players wanted Link Jarrett over Meat. Will be interesting to see what happens if they continue to spiral downward. I wouldn't count on it as they also seem to right the ship. However, Meat is an interesting guy that I believe lacks leadership qualities.

It is fascinating though as Meat has a staff that is as good or better than probably anything his dad ever had.

Messick is legit. Montgomery as a 4th starter is outstanding. It is a solid group.

I feel like the team is built reasonably well but they aren’t playing like it. Some of their loses have been tough luck though. Namely the marathon ND game (12 innings I think game).
