They didn't trust the investigation of their Golden (and False) God, which the FBI commenced for the simple reason that, based upon reasonable suspicion (the basis for the FBI to start any investigation against any citizen),they believed Trump may have colluded with the Russians. Although suspicion remains, there was no competent substantial evidence that he did so, and no charges were filed. They don't now trust anything the FBI does (unless it's an investigation of any democrat).
