Truly a trip of a lifetime—everyone that can go, you’ll love it. The motto in Omaha is accurate, “The Greatest Show on Dirt”….
Made the trip in ‘05 for the finals against the Horns. Even though we lost it was an awesome experience. Downtown Omaha is great. Would love to go again and see the new stadium.
Congrats to the boys! For those of you going to Omaha to see them I’m thrilled for you! My little-leaguer loved watching tonight but our three kids are too young for us to go. . Those who go please update the rest of us as much as possible please! Go Gators!
It is indeed a fun experience! And for the gamblers in the group has gotten more fun--potentially--since our last trip. Nebraska does not allow betting on the games. Iowa does.
Twice went and both times were wonderful. Omaha is a great city. If you go happen to get by the zoo ( old site for old stadium) there’s a little baseball card shop across the street that you have to visit. I hope it’s still open. The owner is a treasure and he and shop will take you back 20-30 years at least.
Lol I wish they were true!! Omaha hotels are ridiculous this year!!!! Highest I remember seeing over there.
Every year is unbelievably awesome I’m sure — the 2005 CWS trip was truly a trip of a lifetime for us with Alan being on our Gators team. We experienced the greatest athletic highs with every Gator victory and unfortunately the bitterness of injury and defeat. However the joys far outweigh the disappointments and our memories are with us for the rest of our lives. Downtown Omaha is the best! Great times everywhere we went. Thank You Gators Baseball for giving us the opportunity to see this amazing event through our Gators eyes!
For our games--the Gator ticket office might have some. For other games--the free market. There used to be GA in the outfield seats--but no more. They are all sold in advance. Travel--depending on where you are flying from-- check Allegiant to Des Moines or someplace nearby (usually cheaper) Southwest also flys into Omaha. Hotels are outrageous-at least when I looked a few days ago.
