I think you are taking this stuff too personally. The context is clearly as a measure against men's basketball, not against the athleticism of the posters on this board. It's an explanation of how/why people might choose to spend their entertainment money/time in one way vs. another.

I like the Gators enough that I follow the girls basketball team. I watch most of their games. On the whole though, I agree with aka. I find women’s basketball to be unwatchable. I have a hard time explaining why. It just looks clunky to me. Yes, I’m aware that every girl that made a d1 roster would kick my ass up and down the court, but I still don’t really like watching it. TBH, I don’t watch much men’s basketball other than the Gators either.

Softball is about the only women’s sport I really enjoy watching. I will watch gators volleyball, maybe some of the olympic volleyball. Not much else draws my attention.

I believe "Tubburd" is a surname, not a type of person, maybe he/she meant doddard. He says he's "better than this" but certainly does not mind casting out insults.

Yeah, basketball is watchable because of the athletic prowess of the players. The women look WAY behind in what you see. It works in softball, tennis, diving, figure skating, track and field, volleyball, soccer (somewhat), swimming, and some other sports I don't really watch, as long as they don't have to compete directly against men. But unless it has a titillating factor, like beach volleyball, the lack of athletic prowess comes through.

About the best thing I can say about women's basketball is that they shoot mid-range jumpers (really set shots) better than the guys. The guys have decided it just isn't manly enough.

    • I remember when Jeanne Golay lived and trained in Gainesville. She would kick the asses of all the local male bike racers. Trying to remember if John Harlan was still local as he was a legend. Pretty sure John Lieswyn was gone.
