Always great to beat the canes. Deans and Rickards came up big.

 

Can we end the Dut/Kyle experiment now.... we won this game with 4 guards and the twins! Play the best players!

10-1 is a very good start and hopefully we have found what works! We have the talent to have a record season... not the talent to win it all by any means but we can pass the 24 win mark if we play the right players and give this effort every game.

 

I thought we were 8 point road dogs...

Regardless, all that matters is the end result!

 

I love your enthusiam as always, I still think we have hope for Kyle. I of course think the twins should be getting a lot more run. Kyle and Deans are about 10 pounds over playing weight and I think they will get into shape with time. But we will need Kyle more as we get in the SEC. I think her and Faith deserve some minutes, but not more then the twins for sure and the twins got the bulk of the minutes it seems today. Just think though if our top 2 players had not has issues..But that is a running theme for our womens programs honestly.

 

Well, Miami was 7-3 coming into this, 6-2 at home, so this counts as the kind of win I was hoping for. All these squeakers against nearly-winless teams was wearing me out.

 

At 10-1 it's time for the Lady Gators to start showing up in the top rankings.

 

That doesn’t matter. Just keep winning.

 

Take care of Oklahoma and I think we are ranked.

It's called old age. LOL.

 

I couldn't see it live but just watched the recording. The Gators played hard and aggressively the whole game.

 

A bit off the topic of the game itself, but anyone else like the curtain being used? Forces the fans forward and to be more clustered and makes the gym look a bit fuller. It may be a bit of smoke and mirrors, but I liked it. Wouldn't mind us doing something similar.

 

But it does matter. America runs on PR and fame.

People notice things like rankings. Gator fans notice, and start to come to the games. High school stars notice, and start to pay more attention to the Gators. Network chieftains notice, and start barking orders to their minions to get the Gators on the schedule. All these things help build the program.

 

Continuing to win matters a whole lot more. People get all worked up about getting ranked at the beginning of the season. Everyone was all concerned about where the football team would be ranked after beating Utah, everyone was all concerned where we’d be ranked after beating OsU last year in basketball. We get ranked, implode, don’t make the tourney or go 6-6, who cares? Just win and keep winning! The rankings will sort themselves out. Preseason polls, and early season rankings matter not, and if it takes the team being ranked to get fans to watch the game, maybe they aren’t very good fans.
