I think she may have legitimate power. Power that perhaps she didn't have when she was going through youth and travel ball. Her first homer of the season fell about 30 feet past the fence. It was a MONSTER clout. The one today was also a bomb and in left center. Those were long home runs, some legit power.

I fully agree that she has some pop. Don’t know how long it’s been there, but I’ve seen it before this year for sure. I just wouldn’t mess with what she’s doing too much. She’s very good at being who she is. I also would not be surprised if she already has the green light to swing away just about whenever she wants either.

 

Great game for hammock. Considering top 10 Arizona couldn't shut out UCF, major props to her. She's steadily improving, just gotta work through that 7th inning when it does not go her way. On to Texas

I agree but however young she’s been battle tested and is talented, I thought she pitched very well. She also had some great defense behind her. I also wonder if she was the pitcher we were expecting. Wish we scored more, happy with a quality win, can’t run rule everyone. P.S. teams tend to save their best efforts for the Gators, it’s a compliment

 

Definitely aren’t gonna run rule everyone and having to play complete games like this will benefit us in the long run.

 

From what I’ve heard increasing her power for WHEN she needs it was a point of emphasis for her in the offseason. Speed however will always be her bread and butter.

 

Didn't see the game - just read the play by play on the box score website. Hammock pitched extremely well and we did enough to win the game. UCF is a quality team and we won. Have to hit better to beat Texas, IMO. Did anyone hear anything about the status of Rothrock?

That first homer of hers was a perfectly timed swing away swing against the perfect pitch and it was a monster homer. Her homer tonight was helped by how hard the pitcher was throwing. Speed is Kendra’s game and always will be. I would like her to swing away more when facing an elite defense setup to take her short game away. If she doesn’t now she should have confidence in her power game, her offseason work paying off. Also doesn’t Jocey have more triples? Maybe she’s just chasing that lol.
