I would add it could also be situational....score, baserunners, point in game, etc. But those general rules will apply most of the time. And when you dive those "backup" outfielders better be hustling

 

Probably hard for Comia, a part time freshman to call off a golden glove senior. I wasn’t there so I’m not sure but Taylor must’ve had a long run and maybe it should’ve been Mia’s ball but if Taylor’s calling her off then yeah she HAS to make the play. Earlier in the season and I commented on it at the time but Taylor was aggressive and dove towards the line and missed. Ended up being a triple for the bad guys. Taylor’s not perfect, she’s a freshman and we all love her including you and I don’t think anyone would crucify you for pointing out when she makes a mistake. Back to Mia I think she has golden glove potential she’s just lacking consistency atm. All pitchers no matter how great need their defense to back them up otherwise it’s not a complete defense. I don’t want to harp on the left side of the infield anymore. I know saucy Jocey got a pickoff recently but she’s also airmailed at least two into right field. I like to think that when Rothrock comes back more than anything that will provide the defense with stability. It all starts in the circle and the circle starts with Rothrock. In her absence the team learned a lot and overall they did great especially considering the competition. In the words of smart hulk from endgame “I totally consider this a win!” Go Gators!
