Otis is in a major major slump. I know people are comparing it to the slump wallace had, but i feel like wallace was still making good contact. Otis is either hitting a weak pop up or striking out. I get PH for her, but Barnard is either HR or strikeout. I wouldn't mind seeing McCellan or Comia hitting for her tomorrow. I also agree would like to see more opportunities for Miller.
Exactly my point earlier.. given the consistency at pitching right now, the fact Miller isn't even given a chance speaks volumes about where she's is at a competitive level. Kara has a 1 to 1 walk strike ratio and Miller isn't even warming up.
After weekend after weekend of hoping to see Keagan in the lineup is really disappointing and discouraging. It reminds me of the volleyball team a couple of years ago opening up their season by beating 4 top ten teams and winning the first 2 sets against the #1 team - and leading in the 3rd set, when out of the blue Stucky goes down with an injury and the rest of the season goes down the tubes. Here we were sitting on the precipice of having a very good pitching staff and spectacular season, then WHAM, we get hit by a truck. I hope I'm wrong, but I've got a bad feeling that Keagan is not coming back anytime soon - and not this day-to-day BS.
"Health info," give me a break. No one is asking to see Keagan's blood work or X-rays, just to have some inkling as to whether the most important player on the team is coming back this year. Maybe you don't think fans have a "god-given right" to the basic courtesy of not being stonewalled or outright lied to by a program we support, but you know what? I do.
She's definitely not ready for prime time. With some practice she'll improve but I agree, the frequent "UUUUMMMMM"s and lack of substance/insight got old pretty quick.
My sense was that Otis was taking a lot of first and second pitch strikes, putting her in a hole…maybe a coach could get her to be more aggressive and loose?
Finally saw a clear shot of Keagan. She was not wearing game shoes. Looks like she is not pitching again. And we are entitled to know her status. We don't need a full doctor's report but the dead silence is simply wrong.
Definitely. I believe she swung 3 times with 4 opportunities at the plate. CTW was continuing to discuss it with her throughout the game. How you go from best on the team last year to worst this year is a head scratcher.
I honestly think she's overthinking and trying too hard. Korbe is about to become a thoracic surgeon and her softball career is rapidly coming to an end. She wants to go out on a winning note and is probably pressing to help her team and maybe the stress is getting to her a little bit. Last year she was 1st team AA, at or near the top in the SEC in BA, led the nation in OBP. That takes discipline, control and calm awareness and seeing her playing career coming to an end may be a little unsettling. She's a great young lady, brilliant and a great teammate. No one knows what's going on in her head, so I'm not going to be critical. But, no doubt she's in a big slump.
What exactly is the reason you need private healthcare info about a teenage young lady? Will it determine if you support the program? Will it impact you in any way whatsoever other than sate some curiosity? It's beyond bizarre this entitlement mentality. The only people this knowledge might actually impact is our opponents....who might have easier preparation to play uf. Not even to mention that sports injuries aren't some exact science....odds are great they don't know when she will be ready. Oh, and fyi....if Keegan Rothrock wants you to know her condition all she has to do is post it on her social media. Maybe if you hold your breath and stomp your feet she will let us all know
"Private healthcare info about a teenage young lady," listen to yourself. This kind of operatic shrieking at the first sign of any criticism of the program is what's beyond bizarre.
I’m beginning to wonder if the expectations going into this season have gotten to the players and the entire team is pressing not just Korbe. Everything seems off right now beyond Korbes slump and not having Rothrock in the circle. Hopefully everything comes together soon because the team absolutely has the talent. Go Gators!
Valid point. Also, going back to a prior post, it's not only Skylar Wallace's play that we miss, it's her leadership. She just drove her teammates to play better. She was a very special person and most people don't have the "it" quality it takes to be a leader that motiovates everyone around them to follow and lift up their game.
In other words you don't have a good answer or reason for this demand for information. I'll ask again....what difference does it make if you know her health status? What will it change? And clearly you don't understand PHI....cause I'm pretty sure you don't meet the standards for permissible disclosure
I've wondered about this, too. Who do you think are the vocal leaders this year? I've had trouble picturing anyone filling that role, though I have seen Holtorf leading some discussions.
Like I thought....can't answer the question Ironic that you are the one clutching pearls because nobody will tell you some health info on another person
I agree we don’t have the right to the information but football and basketball give out all sorts of injury information but the other sports don't. I don't understand the difference.
