If Billy can hold this group together we’re gonna have a hell of a team next season. So many 3s and 4s getting reps and balling out due to injuries to our 1s and 2s

If we are at all competitive NIL-wise, I'll frankly be surprised and disappointed if many of the guys who took part in that victory celebration decide that days like yesterday and teammates who fight tooth and nail for one another are not for them. IMO, there is no denying that Billy has the team squarely behind him or that DJ is truly "that guy." Unless I miss my guess badly, Billy is more likely to finish well on the HS recruiting trail and in the portal than not, and this turnaround is not just a mirage. Who knows, maybe BN was right about commitment and character being a thing?

The refs called the pass complete and Harris down before the fumble. Then when they found out he wasn’t down, the pass all of a sudden became incomplete.

The ruling on the field was a completed pass and the receiver down. Upon review, it became an incomplete pass. That was biased. Had Ole Miss recovered the fumble the ruling on the field would have been confirmed and it would have been first down for Ole Miss

I'm not usually one to gripe that SEC refs "cost us the game." A team usually puts itself in the position of losing the game on a bad call more often than not. However, when several started mentioning the holding that was never called on Ole Miss I started looking more closely (had been watching the DBs) and, sure enough, on a LOT of the scrambles there was no-call holding. Did we do it too and they just let it go all day? I don't know. Hopefully, some will tell us.

Edit: Somebody said he copied-and-pasted the rule about a wrist making the player down.

My position before the season and early in the season was “I’m rooting for Billy, but I don’t see how he can turn this around.”

And here we are. Still plenty of room to improve, but Gator fans should be really optimistic going into 2025.
