That’s obviously playing a role but we’ve seen roster turnover and new pieces come in and have early success at a number of other schools. We just have a collection of players who are lost individually, and a coach who was still learning his roster even after starting the season. Lofton transfers in and is obviously not able to play at this level. Bonham transfers in and starts off on the bench then is requested to be the lead scoring guard a few games in. Fudge is too raw to be consistent at this point in his career. Reeves can’t figure out what his role is, gets benched, comes back but still seems like he doesn’t quite fit in. Kugel plays young, because he is young. Richard looks like a mid major player with potential to develop. JJ serves his role well but then gets asked to do a little too much. Felder is MIA. Lane is a top 25 defensive player in the country but the coaches obviously see no value in him. And Jones has completely lost his offensive skills.

Castleton is the only consistent threat, but the offense we run doesn’t really create easy opportunities for others off Castleton post ups. Just a lot of standing around spectating.

I get it, new coach, messy roster, just kind of a lost year. I wouldn’t mind as much if they had gotten rid of White sooner, but dealing with the last few of his seasons makes me less patient with Golden. That’s not fair to him, but it’s how I personally feel.

Or maybe "try" to insert one of our best defensive players in Lane against their best 2 or 3? At least for a few minutes.

    Geez...smh.

No as I am willing to give them more than a few months to get better..in fact that same situation has occurred when I worked and I am glad I supported and helped them as they really turned things around ..turned out they were an asset to my department

LSU really hasn’t played anyone. Despite the record, we’re ranked ahead in all the metrics.

I completely agree that we have invested quite a bit in our new coaches and they deserve several years to prove themselves. Nothing would make me happier than to see TG and BN turn the programs around and make us winners!

Basketball fans are hoping they aren't experiencing deja vu from the previous young, nice guy coach constantly hoping that the program takes a step forward the next season only to remain the same.

I just want to see better offensive execution and a competitive team. I'm not expecting us to go 18-0 in conference play. lol

That probably should have been our scheduling approach this season so that the coach and team can work through their issues without torpedoing their record.

Again, I'm not saying he was a bad hire or that he should be fired. Just commenting on what I've seen thus far this season. I trust things will get better.

Defense was solid for the most part other than that crazy transition D in the closing minutes of the game.

Transition D was horrid almost the entire game. If they pushed and passed the ball once, it was an open 3. We’re fortunate OU only made seven because they were uncontested for the most part. We’ll get run out of the gym by auburn if nothing changes on that front.

We have had 2 losing seasons in 25 years. This would be 3. It’s the White curse.

Keeping mind that you only need 6 to 8 good players to put a team on the court that can beat (alleged) better teams if they don't bring their A-game. It's not like football were you need at least 40 to 50 good players and zero breakdowns during a play. Teams from conferences outside the foitball power five can be thorny.

Have to pay to play in the CBI, you will never see UF in that tournament.

I'm not interested to read the thread so I hope this stat hasn't been mentioned. Just over 10 minutes into the game the Gators had scored 23 points. They ended with 53 points. That means for the last 30 minutes of the game the Gators scored only 30 points. 1 point a minute is not going to win many games in basketball unless you are a freshmen/JV high school team.

P5 teams are simply making it harder for us on offense than we are for them.

Wasn’t Golden’s fault this recruiting cycle, but we are going to have to get away from recruiting so many mid major portal players, or P5 non starters. You simply can’t depend on that model as proven 2 years in a row now.

I went to bed at halftime because I knew the way we ended the half, that we were about to be stifled.

Have y’all watched players like Lofton shoot from outside? It looks like he just started playing basketball. His form is the worst I’ve ever seen from a Gator guard, that bad.
It’s easy to see why (and I coached Rec league and JV hoops so clearly no genius) we are shooting so bad from the outside and have been most of the season: we are aiming and thinking too much. Absolutely no rhythm.
Can’t an Asst Coach like T. Green tell them to stop shooting like they are 14 years old and make them stop it? It’s beyond frustrating
