I know its Golden’s first year but its been way to long since a Florida basketball team has been fun to watch. And apparently the wait continues

When you set up a play with jones closest to the ball with 2.5 seconds left, you are not coaching very smart. We saw this all last year with Jones. He has played decently lately but his 3 pt shooting is not his strength. defense, ball handling, assist and mid range shots are. But we throw it in to him, the closest player to the person throwing it in. Out coached once again in a close game, dang!

 

I think he was hoping to get a foul called and Jones makes 3 FT’s. It wasn’t much time to do a lot; almost a throw in/catch/turn/shoot.
Do we have any other options for a point guard who can control the ball and pass and avoid TO’s with an occasional jump shot or drive? While I think Fudge, Kugel, Richards are improving somewhat, I think our guards are a liability at this point.

 

First half tonight!

 

3 pt shooting looks atrocious. 2 of 26 total shots made in 1st half? Awful. Still a close game. Maybe there's hope.

 

I'm not sold on A&M at all, and we've now lost 2 games to them. Thankfully, Missouri won vs. Arkansas, making that win looks even better. The first half slumps are basically happening every game now. Florida really needs to figure out a way to win at Miss St. if they want to get on the bubble.
