Especially disappointing with the top of our order due up.

This is the correct answer. She shouldn't have sat back on that ball. She let the ball play her.

Also, Walsh is a little loose with her footwork around the bag. Part of the reason that one play in the bottom of 7 was so close is because her foot was on the center of the bag. I've seen that happen to her quite a few times. She needs to get that stretch down. Foot on the edge a get a stretch in.

Agree. She was 13-0 and then took some losses when LSU went to Texas A&M & Texas and came down to earth a little. But unless our hitters show they can adjust to her drop ball and slow curve it's going to be more of the same. I have always liked Berzon and think she has been one of the most effective pitchers in the country all 3 of her years. Maybe Torino will give us a chance and start someone else. :)

I think what you both are saying is true.
Ocalaman: Softball pitchers don't really have a pitch count and can pitch multiple days.
MCB51: But pitchers aren't as effective because the hitters get a into rythem.

Pretty much why batting averages go up when there are multiple cycles through the lineup.

A few years back South Carolina had large, but a pretty crappy, bullpen. So each pitcher did one inning. Less pressure and hitters really didn't know what to expect.

I'd like to see it be routine that Rothrock goes through the lineup once, then Red goes through the lineup, then Rothrock goes back in to finish out the game.

Not many second baseman could have made that play. Mia is an good second baseman but she is not Hannah Adams. Hannah had 8 errors in four years and Mia has 10 this season.

Thought it was a well played game all around. Good to see Ava being effective in the circle and the left side of the infield made several nice plays. On to game 3.
