I’m becoming numb with Gator sports. Can’t believe this is happened so dramatically but UF wanted to go all in with Academia and I knew , and I said this a couple years ago.
So depressing, but I’m immersed with golf and it’s getting me thru this bs

 

We have seen the last Gator win folks .

 

It has been 40 plus years since basketball and football teams have had loosing records in the same year.

 

It will swing up again my friend but I certainly appreciate your sentiment. Be nice to see UF get back to the standards of Spurrier and Donovan but it's a big ask right now.

 

UGA is playing poorly, we may have a shot.

 

I don’t know where this team turns now or next year, but without a massive transfer splash Golden is going to be facing a firing squad soon. Florida isn’t the place to come and slowly rebuild, history has taught us that, right or wrong.

 

I can't say what I want to avoid the negative tag, but I agree with you.

 

I do not take the "debbie downer" route much, but with two basketball losses to Vandy, piled on top of a football loss this season, it is obvious we have hit rock bottom! I hope the only way to go into the future is UP!

 

Not buying it. Others say what they think within the rules. They also post good things and not only negative though.

Golden and his young buck analytics staff are IN way over their heads.

 

Analytics are great. That’s just about putting the players and team in the best position to succeed.

But you still need the players. Recruiting? Development?

 

I once got banned pre-game because I said we needed this win to increase the odds of an NIT bid (which was true) and now we might not even make the NIT (so I guess I was being optimistic actually). I imagine the person who banned me felt I was negative to hope for the NIT and not NCAA. The board has became a safe space sometimes instead of a discussion about reality. Not all the time, but sometimes. The reality right now is not great, I think blindly hoping for the best is even worse though.

Unless Golden pulls a McDonald's AA or 2, plus a top class in 24, this is an absolute sinking ship and the plug needs to be pulled. An embarrassing year to say the least this year, although it's tough to put all the blame fully on him. Still, he was hired to be an ace recruiter and 23 class is not a good one, so everything rides on the 24 class. With a losing season looking likely for year 2, everything imo rides on his 24 class. Should this losing continue in football and basketball, it's definitely time for a new AD as well. While I understand the Napier hiring, TG made 0 sense if he can't recruit elite talent. TG now on the clock so some elite 24 commits will certainly make the fanbase feel better about the direction of the program.

 

At least they flipped the cameras. Isn’t that supposed to make recruiting easier?

 

Season was over when CC got hurt

Least optimistic and most apathetic I’ve ever been towards Gator basketball in my life, but I do still like Golden and really hoping he succeeds.

Hiring Mike White after Donovan was the big screwup. It WAS the opportunity to hire up if we ever had one, but Foley wanted the glory of hiring Billy 2.0.

 

It’s not been just this year . It’s been bad and the trend is downward. We are a middle / low athletics program.

 

I’ve tried to believe in Reeves but I can’t any longer. We have 1 maybe 2 players on this team that are Power 5 players. This roster will have to be blown up and started again. This is what you get by changing coaches all the time throughout the athletics department.

 

There were no “ups to hire” Florida basketball is traditionally mediocre.
We had some great years but you could tell the trend was spiraling even with Donovan toward the end.
