Thinking NIT might be a bit optimistic. We need 3 more wins. But where?

 

Wonder what our record would be if we limited our 3 point attempts to no more than 7 per game. Forced our guys to drive more. And played Castleton in the low post 90% of all possessions. In other words, play to our strengths instead of playing to our weaknesses.

 

Not sure if I even care. An NIT banner hanging from the Donovan court is like playing football in the York Peppermint Patty Bowl in Shreveport, MS.

 

I agree, better shooters, better toughness and we came out sluggish and shot ft like crap, our three point shooting was weak. our defense on their guards was NON EXISTENT. They took the day off playing Vandy. They will sweep us, Georgia is playing better and we don’t play good in Athens. Kentucky at home another loss, who do we beat?

Our coach is wearing our guys out coming down the stretch They were not fired up and didn’t compete for loose balls, plus I had mentioned their big center was good and their guards are good drivers and shooters. We are trying slams from half court, forcing the ball when we drive into double coverage. we might not make the NIT unless the pickers feel they need a fodder for their tournament. I don’t know how CTG is going to recruit with his season he has lead us into.
Pretty depressing.
I would like to give him a hint, Niles Lane picked us up last year by playing tough defense and driving the ball inside and tough rebounding. Things that are becoming non existent from this program. Learning on the job!

 

Gotta recruit shooters. In today’s world in all sports coaches should be able to flip rosters quickly, especially with the portal.

I hate losing.

 

The part that frustrates me is we see the same stuff game after game after game...nothing changes. It's like deja vu. He doesn't have any answers during the game...wash, rinse and repeat.

He's got at least 2-3 players just sitting on the bench wasting this year away. I'm sure we'll have some transfers out. Maybe I'm jumping the gun but I don't think he'll be here very long...maybe 3-4 years max.

 

I said the same thing aloud over and over when the Gators tried 3-point shots: "I wonder why it didn't go in."

 

And we finished 2 of 20.

That's a delta of:

12 x 3 = 36
2 x 3 = 6

36-6 = 30

So 36 of their 88 points was from 3 point baskets.

And 6 of our 80 points was from 3 point baskets.

No wonder we lost.....

Speaking of execution, the execution of today's college basketball is something I'm in favor of.

 

Yep, disappointing sports season to date. Big things expected from softball, baseball and gymnastics. I know some don't care about those sports but many of us do.

 

If Georgia sneaks into the NIT they will throw a party. Gators n the NIT, bummer.
